Nintendo Game Boy 2D Front + Spines 1.0.0

About This File

I was sick of seeing crappy Nintendo Game Boy box images in my collection (I made this set years ago in lower resolution with the annoying Game Boy logo on all the spines). I think someone else remade just the USA boxes in the same resolution. I remade all boxes in high quality HD with accurate spines on most boxes. All USA games and Euro exclusives are included, along with many Japanese exclusives that can be played in English. The unlicensed Sachen games are included, although those games are awful. The spines and boxes on the USA and Euro games are all retail accurate, some Japanese spines may be custom made if I couldn't find proper source images. As always I included PSD templates for the 2D and 3D boxes if anyone wants to include their own games not included here. About 840 games have been done here. Also included are cropped front and spines. Feel free to let me know if there are any errors. And if anyone wants to upload some of these to the Games DB, by all means do so. Enjoy this collection!

Released

uploaded a fix for Arcade Classic No. 2 - Centipede & Millipede (USA, Europe) that had an error on the front cover. (thanks toci2own for pointing it out)

I added the fix to the Screenshots section.

Fantastic!  And templates as well!  Making it much easier for us to get our collections looking great.

Are these images AI upscaled? Comparing a lot of these to original scans there seems to be some discrepancies. Just curious 1. the source location for these and 2. if they are upscaled or not. It also looks like on many of the boxes the Nintendo seal is placed over the original/someone else's art and is a bigger size. Sometimes also not in the same location. just figured I would point that out.

100% these are upscaled. While viewing them up close you can see the poor upscale job and a lot of artifacting. A lot of the smaller text becomes hard to read as well.

I also see a lot of pasted nintendo logos, ESRBS, Nintendo quality seals, and the "official game pak" logos pasted on the orginal not lining up so you see double.

A decent amount of boxes do not use true box art either, should probably include that in your about this file section.

Of course some of these are upscaled. Lol, they have to be. Many scans available for harder to find games are of lower image quality and have to be upscaled. Most of the boxes were collected from coverproject.net and were rebuilt there. So if you see artifacting or images not up to your standards, feel free to provide better source art to work with. And yes, some logos and text, and almost all ESRBS, seals and official game paks are pasted over onto the covers so they can be readable. I tried to be as accurate as I could be. Some mistakes were probably made as there were over 900 boxes. If you have any examples of bad overlapping or incorrect boxes you can let me know WHICH ones next time. Also, this collection was FREE of charge so that's a huge bonus for you.
