My job has me using Modo and Maya so we are in slightly similar areas. I'm messing around with Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. I'm mainly using their basic shapes and using booleans where needed. There are lots of tutorials for Affinity apps which makes it easier to learn.

Thank you ItchyRobot, those are nice. I'm having fun learning vector art and my BigBox theme requires some breakup of layers to allow animation so I'll probably create almost everything from scratch.

Simple bezel for a simple machine. There is a subtle rolling shine on the BigbBox side of things.

I have close to 40 emulators to make are for and I’m starting with the earliest. I’m messing around with things animated in Big Box to looks slightly different than the static background in retroarch.

New Year, new theme. I'm having fun trying to merge Retroarch and Big Box together and see what a more seamless experience between the two feels like.

@LordEvyl Yes. Why no love for that terrible system with it's plastic keyboard controllers that bend and break under the slightest pressure?

@viking It runs much better for me on my surface pro 6. I get odd hitching on the movie sliding as you mentioned above. I have had this with a couple themes and I have found it has to do with loading. A half second or more of extra padding in the timing in video visibility fixes most everything for me. I have attached my modified version of your platform so you can see what runs well on my lower spec machine. I would like to add that my machine slows every time I change views or themes in the Bigbox settings. I suggest people restart BigBox to make sure it's running at it's full potential after playing with the settings. PlatformWheel3FiltersView.xaml

@viking Thank you for the color info. The "BlurRadius" setting under "DrapShadowEffect" for the "Big Bloc - Background" is what seems to slow down things on my surface pro. The higher the BlurRadius value the more it chugs. 4k videos run well but I do have the HD ones downloaded and it set to use VLC. I'm not advocating for any change to your theme. Someone else on a lower spec machine might find it useful. It's easy enough to edit the xaml file with all your nice commenting inside the file:

This a great theme. It looks great, is clean, and simple. I'm curious why some colors don't match the videos with the SelectionSnoop plugin? Genesis, for example, shows up white. I run this theme on a surface book pro 6. To get it to run smooth I have to change all blur effects to "0" and gave the transition from white to movie and extra .5 to 1 second for things to load. Do you have plans to makes video's for an Apple IIe or the Magnavox Intellivision? Again, your work is excellent. Thank you for making it.

I uploaded a video. I'm sure all my underlying xaml code is a nightmare but I had fun learning how to tweak the interface.

I'm liking the idea of retro commercials for the videos on the platform page. Anyone know how to source slightly better quality or have good links to video game commercial archives?
