The LB database only pulls images/metadata from the name-based entry that you matched with. The LB ID number can be found in the upper right corner of the edit screen (ctrl-e). If you click on that number, it will take you to the metadata in LB database.

I know that 😉 That was not the question.

  2. I already had several times strange fanart download results, don't know exactly if they came now from the LB database or EmuMovies. How does the fanart get fetched, on which criteria? Sometimes it could make sense as the game name of the downloaded image is close to the one you downloaded images for, f.ex. Mystery House and Mystery Murder downloading the same fanart image, but just now I had a Spider-Man picture for Ms. Pac-Man. I understand that there's the -man in both, so I was wondering how strong the search criteria picks images.

Ha, on NBA Jam: Tournament Edition I had a picture of Pikachu, I guess it's the Tournament Edition word that was the culprit.

  3. Just wanted to report something I just noticed, when auditing a platform and searching for duplicates, LB isn't always accurate.

Just audited my DS category and LB finds LEGO Battles and LEGO Battles: Ninjago as duplicate even though they are 2 different games. Don't know how exactly the comparing files works.

And btw, is there a way to remove them from duplicates once found, even wrongly?

  4. 1. I just tried and LB will not recognize if you have subfolders (I could be wrong though, there might be an option).

    2. You can have whatever extension and LB will recognize it, as long it's for the same system.

    3. No you can't as you only import games for one specific system at a time.

  5. It is set that way.

I think I will just copy them over, I have around 90 platforms in my LB setup, and this is one of the only ones where I would like to use cartridges as images, so easy peasy 😉

  6.  I'm using the Colorful - Dark theme with vertical wheel 1 view.

I created a subfolder named WheelGamesView, copied an existing xaml file into it and renamed it Sega Game Gear.xaml and changed the Boxes to Carts. When I launch BB now it shows me the cart images but the view is changed from my preferred vertical wheel 1 to a wall view.

  7. The theme I'm using uses front boxes as images. For Game Gear f.ex. I want to use cart images. The only option I found to do this is to set my cart image as box front image. Problem is that this is not available in bulk editing. I would like to tell LB to use all my cart images as box front images, that way it would show it the way I want in BB. Doing one by one manually takes too much time.

Copying the images from one folder to another in the images section works partially, as some images are in PNG and others in JPG format. Plus LB likes to use image folders for regions, therefore the structure is different.

Is there another way of doing this?

    Thanks

  8. I don't open LB in fullscreen, just about 3/4, so I can use a Windows Explorer window next to it.

When I'm working f.ex. in Paint.net and I open another application and during the load I click back on Paint.net, then I will stay in Paint.net and the other application will open in the background, not showing up. With LB that's not the case, I launch LB, click on my Paint.net but as soon as LB is started it puts itself in front of everything and then I have to minimize it to able to continue my work in Paint.net.

Do you understand what I mean?

I guess I have to try out the script, but this should also be available as an option in the LB settings. But I don't even want it to be minimized straight away, just opened but that it stays in the background behind other applications that I'm currently using.

  9. Can I somehow prevent LB from launching on top of other programs in Windows?

It's bugging me since some time, I'm working with other stuff, launch LB and then it pops up on top of the program I'm using and I have to minimize it to continue my work. It's quite annoying when you launch LB several times a day. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Is there a script running that makes LB do that? Or is there an option in LB itself?

I don't want to install 3rd party software to get rid of this issue.

    Thanks

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying because you had said "I have a save state from RetroArch I get the option "continue""...if I've got this right, you've created a save point in the game and it gives you the options to continue. But then loading my save wipes that, right? Or is that continue option from my save?

Sorry, no save state. I created an ingame save point which gives me the continue option, trying to load your save is unfortunately not working.

  11. I tried now myself, when I have a save state from RetroArch I get the option "continue" in Pokemon Snap, with your file nothing shows, even with renaming.  Did you try loading it in a standalone emulator, not RetroArch?

  12. How does it look in your platform .xml? Is there an entry for GOG? Is there an entry at all?

  13. You have a good point here.

I was just now trying to find a solution. Opened the Atari 2600 .xml file, searched for the game Allia Quest, found 2 entries, none pointing to any video although there is a video in LB. The video is correctly stored in Videos\Atari2600 and when trying to play the one from the Video URL it's clearly a different one compared to the one that is stored on my HDD.

Because I thought you could "fix" your problem by editing the .xml and pointing every game to the same video.

Still trying to find a solution.

@Jason. Which .xml file hosts the path for the video link? I didn't find it.
