  1. Hi there, I've been enjoying this theme for quite a while but after the last few updates (I want to say since version 12.13 or so) I've been getting this error, mostly when I attempt to back out to the options screen.. I have tried reinstalling the latest version of this theme and I do right-click the downloaded archive and check "unblock". I did try doing a little searching, but most of what I come up with has to do with symlink issues for folks who have launchbox installed over their network. This installation is sitting on a local drive... Not really sure what to make of this so I'm hoping I can get pointed in the right direction.
  2. I've run into issues as well with needing to edit something in DaVinci Resolve and that software not playing well with mkv or webm. I came across this page that has some pretty handy commands for re-containerising content from within mkv or webm into MP4. It's pretty neat since it basically works as a direct transfer without any re-encoding so it should be lossless as well. You'll of course need ffmpeg's command line tools. Its a handy trick to have in the arsenal.
  3. I've been curious about their guidelines as well. I haven't run into anything that says "video must be formatted" followed by any specifics, but this document I came across on their discord seems to lay out an expected "40 seconds of gameplay with 10 seconds of title screen". With the gameplay bit coming first and the title screen second. I know that I haven't run into any other formats for their video media which is why I haven't uploaded my own MS-DOS snaps. (I just let the gameplay demos run and record those). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ObZfWpS6yTd8Nxjh6v847Y_bpxxGZtsuaPmMVV5HOSs/edit If you have questions about specifics it looks like Discord is the place to ask. https://discord.com/invite/D6KbKZr
  4. EmuMovies with their paid account gives you access to their FTP server. I've downloaded single videos that way through FileZilla (FTP Client). They also have a downloads forum similar to what is here at the LaunchBox forums for themes and artwork. For EmuMovies, it looks like you can submit your own files here: Submit Media. Also, if you're not put off by a bit of tinkering, trimming down YT gameplay to something more manageable can be pretty easy with this tool I've been using it for a while to trim the "trailer approved for all audiences" message off of my movie previews. Works pretty well and is pretty straightforward to use.
  5. Yes, there sure are. I was just giving feedback on this particular one. My overall impression was mostly positive and in the same vein as a few other folks in previous posts. I realize this is a style choice. Not sure what your point is... Like I said, I'll probably use these.
  6. As others have said, I'm conflicted with the design choice showing off the cartridge's connector. On the one hand, I can appreciate these being accurately represented. On the other, my brain won't stop telling me it looks wrong given the angle. Overall though I appreciate the effort and its high-quality work. In the end, I think the uniformity of this is going to be a really attractive addition to a BigBox. I could definitely see myself making use of these. Thanks!
  7. This really looks great. Any chance you might do a wall layout for this theme as well?
  8. I'm not asking where I can find movie posters and artwork for Launchbox. I have them. Before we get too far into this, I know Movies and TV Shows are currently outside the scope of this application and this is just a thing I'm doing, but I know others have an interest in hosting all of their media under one roof which I how I got started down this rabbit hole. At this point I have a collection of... I'd say nearly 300 movies. Poster art, fan art, backdrops, front covers, back covers, video trailers, banners... most of what you need to make it feel like it was scraped at a similarly thorough level on par with your game folders. I'm still building this out but it occurs to me that I could post my collection of media here in the downloads section to share. Again though, citing what I already said above, I know this is a bit of a niche and I don't know to what degree the community here wants to participate in that. I also understand if there is some apprehension about hosting media related to movies and television since that area of copyright tends to be scrutinized more closely. I wasn't sure where this question would be appropriate so I'm putting it here in the noobs section. Just thought it might be worth gauging interest. Thanks.
  9. Simple interface with a really attractive look. Well done, man.
  10. No, it is an ultrawide though. Native resolution is 3440x1440. Ultrawide has been an issue with some BigBox themes but I have never had it cause an issue with Launchbox (though I assume it isn't out of the question). The difference between 16:9 and 21:9 can mess with views in regards to zooming and camera position. That said I did just try stepping down to 2560x1440 and that didn't seem to make a difference. Anyway I am currently using faeran's Default Plus theme without an issue and I'm pretty happy with that. If this was a problem across the board I'd take a bit of a deeper dive into it, but it only seems to happen with this theme.
  11. It's not a setting I have altered, so no. I did try out another theme as well, which didn't present this issue, so I've been using that instead. If I get curious I'll poke around fir the Spacement setting you mentioned. Thanks.
  12. Oh that's awesome. LOL I've been spending most of my time in BigBox so I'm not as familiar with the Launchbox desktop app as I should be... Honestly with as nice as this looks especially with videos its too bad there isn't just a controller supported version of this. Thanks for the theme and the pointing me in the right direction!
  13. How are you guys getting videos to show up on the right hand side of the screen? None of mine do.
  14. I downloaded this theme and its cropping all of my cover art. Only about a third of the image shows. Is there a setting somewhere to undo this?
  15. I suspect Valve has likely done quite a bit of optimization for their flavor of Linux as it relates to the hardware inside the Steam Deck. Why you would elect to throw all of that out and run Windows is a bit beyond me... but then, as I sit here and think about it, Maybe dual booting is a possibility? I suppose that is a compromise if a native app isn't going to come around. It is Linux after all. Windows AME inside a VM is an interesting thought as well. I came in here curious about Launchbox and now I'm leaving wondering about QEMU. LOL
  16. Yeah the file itself is notated well too. Each table has a header that tells you what they are. Editing the time I'm sure would be pretty easy for most people to figure out regardless (time codes do stick out a little). Most of my fumble was spent figuring out which view was which so I knew which one I needed to edit. I just should have thought to use the search tool sooner (thanks Mr. Retrolust). Seeing all the tables displayed in text made my eyes glaze over a bit at first, but it wasn't bad once I could figure out where the tags were starting and stopping.
  17. Hey I did just have a poke around turned out to be a pretty simple job with Notepad++ I just made sure the table below the system time got moved up into the same position after deleting those lines. Loaded the theme and boom no system time. Launchbox didn't complain about any errors in the file. Pretty good result! 👍 I should also really take the time to say thanks while I'm here. I have a system I have been using this theme on for a while and I really enjoy it. The overlays for the screens and marquees are really impressive to look at as well. Its a really cool aesthetic and I dig it. Thanks again.
  18. I just realized one is standard time and the other is military. I wouldn't ask you to go through the trouble to do a one off, but if its a simple edit in one of the xml files I'd be willing to try it myself. I'm just not sure where I should look.
  19. I'm wondering if I can actually just turn the time of day off? I have what I assume is a bug where my time is displayed as 12:45PM 12:45 ...It's not the end of the world but it is a bit annoying. I can't for the life of me find any settings that affect the time settings at all. Am I blind or is there somewhere else I should be looking?

The fact that this uses a plugin to build the interface leaves me with questions... My experience with plugins and launchbox is that the plugin can break when launchbox updates from one version to another. Is that something you'd be concerned about, or am I not understanding something correctly?
  21. Aye, I didn't think about using the filters to highlight what you don't want listed. That would help speed things up for sure.
  22. If I'm not mistaken when you import your steam library you are asked if you'd like to import installed games or all games within the library. Are you sure you had the right box ticked when you went through that import process? (they can be easy to miss). As far as re-doing the steam import my first thought would be to just delete the category for Steam from within Launchbox and then re-import with the settings you want. Alternatively if there isn't a ton to go through you can just highlight and delete the games you don't want listed.
  23. I'm mixed on the issue. I have added quite a few of my TV and movies to Launchbox... but is it easy or fun? No. No it is not. I'll also say that I still find myself gravitating towards Plex to actually browse my collection. The thing I do find annoying about Plex through is it almost always wants to transcode everything even when it doesn't need to. As a result when there is no internet connection present you'll sometimes be caught out not having a codec the service is trying to download on the fly. So Plex is a local server, your files that you want to play are local, but the codec has to come from an active internet connection... So then I find myself using Windows Explorer to find my file and play it anyway. It's not a common problem as I almost always have internet. But it is an annoying one. Its also a problem that is not present in Launchbox as that front end just creates a direct link to the file that opens in VLC. (or whatever you tell it to open in). I look at Launchbox as a good backup launcher for that reason and I plan to continue to import my library into it. That aside. You can launch the Plex App through Launchbox. If you pair that with something like reWASD you can set your controller up to remap to mouse and keyboard when the Plex executable is active. After a bit of tinkering I am sure you could achieve a pretty seamless experience with Plex acting like a component of Launchbox. I'll likely by trying this out myself in the near future.
  24. Hey I guess that's why it already looks so good. lol. I have indeed found it usable, I've been using it for a couple of days now. I finally got around to braving the theme creator and I'm even tinkering with it a bit in there. Thanks! ?
  25. I wish I had something useful to point out, but I'd be pretty excited to use this theme just as it is on my setup. The progress shots look great! ?
