Nice π Works fine, now my platforms are in order π Thanks
-
Hi I like to have things the Right way π In my Launchbox (List view) to the left, there are all the platforms, like "Handhelds - Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Game & Watch, Nintendo Gameboy...etc". Alphabetically. I'd like to know if I can sort them chronologically and by manufactor: All Nintendos starting with Game & Watch, then Gameboy etc, and after Nintendo other companies. I find plain alphabetical sorting wrong in platforms and can't find a setting that does otherwise? Any input? Greetings...

Thank you very much π That worked, so now I have a workaround. Greetings π

Thanks for replying π Nice you mention it can be altered, although I have no clue on what and how to do, I have found some xaml files, but dont know which is right, and what to edit. Have no experience like that. Greetings

Thanks for info π yeah it should by default be fixed column size not expanding. I guess devβs mostly use Big Box, so they does βt notice? ππΌ

Fixed: List View better respects column sort order after adding or editing a game Now english is not my langauage... I'm Premium user, but only use Launchbox Listview, no Big Box. so list view is important to me. Is this saying that we might have my big wish this time? Could be named - Option: "Choose fixed column size" too? When I scroll down my Arcade games list, some games have so long titles (like below), that all the other columns disappear, because the the titles are very long and LB wants to show all the Title and not only the first part of it, When you scroll past games like theese, no other columns are visible afterwards and you have to scroll sideways or resize columns again. Some other emulator frontends I have tried (EmuLoader?), can offer Option: Choose Fixed Column size. They could be sized with drag and released, but a size-number could be OK too. Is this something like that? Could it become something like that? Some titles below: War of the Bugs or Monsterous Manouvers in a Mushroom Maze Touryuu Densetsu Elan-Doree / Elan Doree: Legend of Dragoon Knights of Valour 2 Plus: Nine Dragons / Sanguo Zhan Ji 2 Qunxiong Zhengba / Sanguo Zhan Ji 2 Feilong Zai Tian / Sangoku Senki Busyou Souha The Ultimate 11: The SNK Football Championship / Tokuten Ou: Honoo no Libero Greetings PS: And when you have to resize column size, horizontal scrollbar is missing, until you choose View Image view and back to List view, but that be something wrong in my end, it has been like this more than a year, and not all can reproduce, but some know this "thing".

Another way might be to allow text / data / game names to show just the first X letters (like show max 30 letters) and the the rest of the name could be revealed by selecting the game or maybe pulling the dividers of the fields

OH yes, that would make my (default view=list view) Launchbox a bit better. Editing column width and being able to save that, is a thing that I have asked before. Because some game names (and other content) are Very Long, and when I scroll down the list, the column resizes after the length of the games names... the column gets so wide, I can hardly see anything else. In some frontends saving the column width works fine, I guess it will be easy to make an option for each column to have a user chosen size. Like stay fixed in the chosen width, when I drag it narrower, and later restart. π erling1000

The issue is finally gone, after upgrading to LB 13.14 π
-
No, I'm only running on a laptop. Windows 11, and now LB 13,8.

Others have this one? The last many versions (can't remember when it happened first) I have an error when opening LB... the vertical scrollbar is missing in list view (which I always use). A way to get it back is choosing view > Images view and then view > List view. Now I use LB 13.7b4 on windows 11. Bye π

Hi For a while I had this: Boot up LB in list view (I only use this and not BB) Horizontal Scrollbar is missing in list view window. It only shows up if I select Images View and then return to List View. Anyone else? Or knows whats wrong? It's LB 13.6 π

Can not make the Platform Icon for Nintendo Game & Watch appear. Guessing itβs the & sign in the platform name. Did rename the platform and the icon, but still no success. Anyone else?

Hi π Yeah - just dropped my HDD and it died. Did a backup on my second HDD a year ago π So Iβm reimporting all mame games in the Full way (canβt remember the right terms now. Last time I did like this, I ended up losing all my Metadata, and I donβt want that again. Have been spending many hours on inputting my own Metadata in Launchbox, so the fields doesnβt show what I could import, but my own data. Very important for me to keep. My Launchbox and MAME folder are on my SSD (C-drive) - only my roms were on the external (D-drive). Should I backup a folder in Launchbox and then copy-overwrite a new one after Full import? Just to be sure? And would there be a setting I could uncheck to prevent loss of Metadata? I would like both answers if possible π Oh yeah, and would keeping my favourites be a part of this solution? Greetings, to all of you π€

Sorry for late answer, been busy. Thanks for answering π

Hi... Is LB made so the parent MAMEgame decides if MAME High Scores Badge is shown in the clone games too, in listview? In my LB I see the badge set for Repulse and all of its clones, even if most of the clones doesn't have the headline High Scores next to Overview and related games... OR Is it just because no-one have yet made a high score in these clones? I'm not that good yet. How does it work? Greetings

Heavy emulation much slower in launchbox?
erling1000 replied to erling1000's topic in Troubleshooting
Some thoughts: The mentioned games feature a Hitachi H something CPU. And MAME warns me they have flaws in the emulation of graphics (Aqua Rush) or timing (DoDonPachi ones). But still the difference in launching via LB or MAME is significant β¦ -
Heavy emulation much slower in launchbox?
erling1000 replied to erling1000's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi neil9000 and others If I get what you say, my system is to slow to run the MAMEgames like dfkbl and others with same driver, when launched from LB. Becuse of 2,4 vs 4.0 gHz? But when I play it in just MAME, I donβt close LB just minimize LB like when I launched it out of LB. Wonβt the demands to my processor speed be the same, when the same programs are open? LB minimize when games are launched vs. I minimize. LB and MAME are open and LB is minimized while I play, both ways. Is there something LB does when launching that really slows my system? Does LB monitor / interact with MAME while Iβm playing or just pause when minimized after launching? And I have no problems running DoDonPachi 3, (my question was about an earlier DoDonPachi game) which features the same or better graphics, speed and clouds of bullets (they are bullet hell shooters) and made by the same company (Cave). Greetings π -
I made a hiscore in Cyvern β¦ (Japan) my score was 221.000 ish and I entered my initials ERL, but LB Leaderboard says I scored 1.000.000 and entered AAA (as did another player). Weird π§

Hi there... Blazing Star hiscores doesnβt work for me. Works for you? I can do the Hiscore, (just started playing it, 428.000 ish) but every time I do it, no entry in LB Mame Hiscore panel. Looking in MAME directories it shows that a saveram file is saved in NVram directory when leaving the game. But no blazstar.hi file in Hiscore directory is to be found. Other games do the right thing. Anybody knows what is up? Using LB 12.7 and MAME 0239
