It doesn't seem to affect mega bezels at all, honestly! I can use the new pixie mega bezel shaders and it looks just fine in fullscreen without mucking with the non windowed fullscreen height. It's more of an issue with the standard newpixiecrt and mattias shaders.

It also happens in games on the sega model 2 emulator when trying to use reshade to apply shaders to those games. (since there is no sega model 2 core)

Ok I don't have experience in those 😐

I tried a few things, in retroarch at least. My desktop resolution is 2560x1440. When I change the non-windowed fullscreen height to just below or above 1440, the blown out rolling scanlines are back to normal. Could there be any reason why that would happen? I'm relatively new to all of this, don't mean to be a bother. But if y'all have any idea, I'd appreciate suggestions. Before setting up the second screen this all just worked right. 🤔

Not sure if this is megabezel or something else but if it is play with the non-integer scale, high Res scanlines, scan line direction multiplier settings in the shader parameters in retroarch

This started when my brother in law set up my TV as a second screen for my PC. Ever since he did that when I use, for instance, CRT new pixie, (in retroarch or in reshade on stuff like Sega Model 2 emulator) I get these wild blown up rolling scanlines all over the screen. Instead of being in the background and only terribly visible on bright backgrounds, they are everywhere at all times, even on darker colors. If I try to turn them off, they just freeze in place, still exactly as shown in the attached images. Any ideas what could have gone wrong? If I play in windowed mode it's back to normal. But the second I go full screen I'm wearing the glasses from They Live AND I SEE THEM. Any ideas what could have happened to make this sudden change?

This was happening only on my PC, but is now happening on my TV as well.

You will need to adjust the resolution of the emulator, or the size of the screen area (scale) or scan line Resolution.

Hello everyone, while playing around with chatgpt, I've come up with a build for what I want to do, which is to move Bigbox fluidly with all the images, covers, videos, etc., and be able to emulate well up to PS3 / Switch. Although I think I'm going a bit overboard, I'm not sure. Let me know if it's not necessary or if something can be changed.

    CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F

    Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B760M-A D4-CSM

    RAM : Kingston FURY Beast 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16

CPU Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120R

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 WINDFORCE OC 12GB GDDR6 Rev 2

    SSD: Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0

    HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 6TB

    Power: Corsair RM650e 650W 80 Plus Gold

Emulation wise you'll be good, maybe will need a bit of tweaking in PS3· or Switch games if upscaling to 4k.

Regarding Bigbox navigation, I have a more powerful computer (RTX 3070 ti, i7 13700k, 64gb RAM and everything stored on NVME gen 4 drives), but navigation in Bigbox is still rather choppy even on default theme, there's been improvements recently but still needs a bit more optimisation I think. I tested other front-ends like ES-DE or Retrobat which do run buttersmooth, however their features are not as advance as LB/BB.

  5. Dualsense since I can emulate Xbox style with rewasd and use a lot of of shortcuts, track pad etc. Use it as native automatically when needing gyro, PS glyphs, haptics etc...

Just wish there was a way to wake the PC up with it but Bluetooth doesn't allow that on pc.

Hope someday Sony will release official drivers for Windows and also a usb receiver with high polling rate and support to wake on USB. It would then be the default ultimate all in 1 solution for everything without limitations or workarounds involved.

  6. Within the game details view, I am looking to automatically say "install" instead of "play" when a game is not installed. And to have an extra "Uninstall" option when a game is installed.

Launchbox has those options but not Bigbox? Even the default theme doesn't have those options as far as I can tell. Am I missing something obvious here?

All progress badges should display on both the games detail page and in certain views

Can't guarantee how it make work for other themes that aren't the default, though let us know if you aren't seeing it and we'll see if we can identify why

I modified my own with CTC but looks like there's no options to use the new fields for badges yet.

Completed and unplayed can still be selected and show up within the CTC but not once published in Bigbox, other badges work fine.

    Hi there,

The new Game Progress Tracking feature replaces the Completed checkbox found in LaunchBox versions before 13.22.

When upgrading to version 13.22 or later, all games previously marked as Completed will be automatically migrated to the new Game Progress system using the Done / Mastered status. This new status overrides any automatic progress rules.

Additionally, the Unplayed badge is now fully integrated into the Game Progress system and no longer appears as a separate option in the Badge menu.

The old completed tag will also still exist in the xml metadata files if you really need it.

If for whatever your progress data has not migrated correctly, please see the post below with a plug you can use it grab the old tags from the metadata file.

Let us know how you get on

How can I display the completed and unplayed badges in Bigbox?

Dolphin shouldn't flash any other window at boot of a game. maybe missing some launch param. are you using "-b" for batch? that would launch the game without the actual Dolphin interface window with your list of games and such. it would only launch the actual game window with that param

Looks like it's already there but thanks anyways.

  10. @JoeViking245 hey I did a bit of experimenting.

So strangely enough it seems that both settings time values actually add up when using both which I don't think is supposed to happen.

However setting minimum start-up screen time to 0 and only using emulators startup delay time works well, but not on all emulators, for example the model 2 emulator doesn't respect the value selected and opens after less than a second making the loading screen almost useless.

I also noticed for Dolphin as an example that using both settings together allows for a cleaner startup as it hides the quick Dolphin windows that flashes when starting a game. When not using minimum startup time it flashes on top of the startup screen.

I don't do "quick" explanations. ;)  If someone's going to ask, I'm goin' to do what I can to 'learn ya'. 😎

However, in this case, the answer is, no.

But if I had to take a guess, the Minimum Start Screen Display Time (found under Tools - Options) is your catch-all for 'how long to show the Startup Screen'.  This (I'd presume) would be for games that don't have an emulator [as listed under Manage - Emulators].  e.g. Steam

For emulators, the Startup Load Delay is for setting 'how long to show the Startup Screen' for that emulator.

Same thing for games when you check Override... and click Customize.

To surmise Load Delay (and if my guess is correct, Minimum Display time) as taken from the UI:

    Thanks 🙏

With Steam games (and others that use a 'launcher' for the game) you run into a nigh impossible situation.  Here, LaunchBox is launching Steam which it (LB) sees it as "the game".  Steam then launches the "actual game" and [the launcher] goes away.  As far as LaunchBox knows, the "game" has exited when the launcher does go away.

For this same reason, you'll never see the Shutdown Screen for games using a launcher (unless you exit the actual game right after it opened).

If you're ok with no Startup Themes, that's fine.  Myself, I'd go with a happy medium value.  If the games ready to play but I have to wait another 2-4 seconds to "see" it because other games take longer to load, whatever.  If you have one game in particular that takes a lot longer than most, well... that's what the manual override is there for. ;)

Makes sense, thanks for the feedback.

  13. Thanks, I actually tested but it's not easy to implement as each game will be very different so I bulk disabled the start-up theme (and pause theme) for all Steam games, a bit cumbersome to remember to do it each time you add a new game though, hopefully we can get the same options soon as we have for emulators. But most useful would be simply to have start-up option that allows you to select a minimum displayed value and then launchbox auto-detects when a game has started and switches to it if more time is needed.

  14. So that might be a bit of an easy one I guess, so I have my start-up screen (Slipstream) to be on for 3.5 seconds which is the time the loading bar takes to fill and is a great value for all emulators I have.

For Steam games however, often this is not enough and screen goes back to launchbox or Bigbox until the game starts. Is there a way to set a maximum time value, detect when the game has launched and switch automatically?

  15. Hi folks is there a set of platform categories logos where all of them look similar please? I am looking for these:

    - Consoles

    - Arcade

    - Handhelds

    - Computers

    - Favourites

    - Collections

    - Light Gun Games

    - Pinball

    - Tools (to put utilities like reWASD, Nvidia app, MSI Afterburner etc)

If that's not a thing yet, I am also open to a matching set of regular clear logos.
