  1. Awesome Thankyou. I had to go fetch that drive previously and reconnect and then changed the path when it was no longer crashing from trying to access an older obsolete one That worked too, cheers!
  2. Have a very strange bug where I am not, and never have used my external drive to play games directly from, as they are setup on my internal "D" drive, but for some reason whenever I click Manage > Platforms now, Launchbox force closes with the following error? Any awesome person out there know how to fix this please? (Since I don't use that drive anymore and not sure when or why it decided to use it for anything locally? Thanks
  3. Have tried for half a day, kicking myself and reading tons of mixed instructions online and mostly finding these instructions to be outdated and conflicting with each other. AI tries to step by step guide the process, but simply keeps apologizing for giving instructions which were only relative to previous versions of FSUAE launcher. - I have Another World WHD and the latest Fsuae launcher - Adding Adf Floppies is as easy as choosing them and pressing start, but adding WHD's manually is seemingly impossible because i must be doing something wrong One thing i learnt is that games such as Another World that used to be on the main database and installed automatically, no longer appear in the fsuae database, due to being commercial games and no longer part of the downloadable ones (Which is why I'm trying to learn how to add a WHD manually) Example of an existing game from the database which is automatically setup below: Thanks if anyone knows how to do this
  4. Yes Thanks for the backup, I got my games back up again in no time
  5. The only thing I can think of, is by default, after you delete all games of a platform, the platform category defaults to ALL and that in turn killed my collection where somehow it deleted the full selection (a bit dangerous really to have ALL in the list) I'll disable that now. There could be a useful warning if you are deleting anything whilst the ALL selection is highlighted too. That'd prevent many peoples accidental sufferings. I went to the backup and drag dropped the previous file which was the largest in size as that was obviously the last time where all my collection was organised and complete. That resolves the issue, but would be good to have "Something" in place, especially since other people in my family play my collection too
  6. Having spent a month setting up a very neat n tidy Launchbox collection of my favourite games for each type of console, this morning I loaded up Launchbox to find that whilst all the games still exist in their folders, all the emulators and platforms are still there, but all games have been removed from Launchbox........ Not really certain WHY did all my hard work putting games into the front end just vanish ? (Windows version)
  7. It does detect a lot of false positives... that is true but I don't know how it can be considered spyware? What part is considered spyware / malware please? Especially when I've tested an emulation rom, it does a good job of blocking nasties or if people have shared other emulated stuff with embedded malicious code, it's always managed to prevent it installing keeping pc running clean. So what part of it do you refer to as being malware? If you could prove that I'd actually not continue my subscription with them Thanks.
  8. This was relative to Norton expressing these wav files were somehow dangerous. If anyone's trying to install with Norton running Choose Norton Settings > Antivirus > Data Protector and disable that there whilst installing.
  9. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vUfbuWjQ5AhHTdKmSgir8rKCh4GY97gv/view?usp=sharing This has corrupted my current install and won't load anymore, and the latest installer always has the same problems with these wav files which won't progress beyond. Regards
  10. but why if it saves you 100gbs worth of space and looks like they run exactly the same from what ive compared?
  11. Ive been playing around with these and I realised i had a lot of these super heavy CHD reliant mame games in my pocket handheld device on FINAL BURN The difference is? They need no CHD files and work on less power, faster, and still look the same. If a game can be emulated on FinalBurn NeoGeo, forget mame.
  12. Would be an awesome very simple tool then for your skillful team I've thought about using the export/copy, changing the folder path to be the new location which will copy all games out to new location, and then simply delete the old one. Scary thought for a collection I've put together over years oo
  13. When you have a good sized collection of MAME roms and CHDS, and some were never imported over the years, and some do not work, how can you find out what these things are? Since they're all located in the same folder, it would take forever individually searching through all these files to find ones that aren't thankyou.
  14. Winner! Although it's not greatly intuitive to be fair. There wasn't an OPTION to select in the drop downs, but you're totally right that if you leave it blank and continue, it does disable the selected links. Thanks very much Neil !! ?
  15. They were not imported as roms, they have worked as PDF links & PC game shortcuts, but having moved a few things around, some of them had "Use Emulator" activated. Clearly wasn't supposed to happen, but it did, and now it should be just a simple task of selecting all of these shortcut links, choosing "Emulator" field as the one to change, and choosing "Disable / Don't Use Emulators", but there is not an option to do this.
  16. How can you choose to turn off "Use Emulator" for multiple files in Launchbox? Normally I would want to choose, emulator and then select the relative platform, however in the case where I have LINKS which have for some reason changed to "Use Emulator", there is no drop down option when changing multiple files, to disable "Use Emulator" which then prevents the links from launching. The only way I can see to disable "Use Emulator" is to go through hundreds of files manually changing them all 1 by 1 which I don't have time to do? Thankyou anyone who can help.
  17. We could technically use any version since we are launching through launchbox, and the UI doesn't actually ever get to see the light of day But yes I realised these issues through using the Mame 64bit main version. Won't want to update often if this trouble happens every time. Occasionally I updated the Mame version, but have never had games stop working in the past. It only seems this one, and relative to some of the files Neil mentions.
  18. That's a great explanation Neil thanks! Will look into it.
  19. The Mame collection was and has been working great for a long time. Today I launched up to play some games, and saw there is quite a big update to MAME version, and since it's been a while, I updated to 0.192 Now it's completely broken. Games suddenly have files which are not found all over the place. Nearly all the Street fighter games are no longer working. Each game is asking for different files which are supposedly missing, but these games used to work before this mame update... Disaster... Anyone have any idea what's going on please?
  20. Just played StarFox and it runs better than all the independent emulators I tried out there. Quality thanks!
  21. Interesting. What's the most demmanding game for this emulator so I can test please?
  22. ahhhh I see what's happened here. Yes it's the core difference. I watched the tutorial explaining that I needed to get the accuracy version, which emulates everything 100% and I have a powerful gaming laptop so I went for accuracy, but the associated in the tutorial when I skipped ahead to that part shows the association with the balance version. tut makes sense! Why do people use Balance though? Surely Accuracy would be the better one to use? I mean 3ghz processors are pretty standard now right? Thankyou!
  23. Hey, yes I don't actually have a -C after this line, just wondering what that did However with just this line alone, it's not loading What else should I check for please?
  24. In the Tutorial video, it shows what to put at the start of the "Associated" line for Snes, however it doesn't show the full line (After the C- ) Sega worked without having to do anything, but I assume the associated in the Video link is for the balanced Core of retroarch, but then that doesn't make sense why it shows to use the Accuracy version? Does that use the same association line please? I have the Accuracy core downloaded, and can play games fine in Retroarch, but when I try to run games through Launchbox, it fails... so I'd guess it would be that associated line of code messing things up? This is what I currently have in there: -L "cores\bsnes_balanced_libretro.dll" Thanks for any guidance. (have to say running Sega through Retroarch is 100% better than KegaFusion, much more accurate and faster)
  25. Ok, If you have your Mame all setup, but want your games to be seperate platforms for each genre. Mame > - Fighters - Racing - Shooters To do this, you'd make a large selection of, for example... Fighting games, Bulk Edit > and change the Platform to - Fighters (With it's Category being Mame) This will then list the fighter games under the Mame Category like above Correctly. It then makes NEW and separate folders for everything to do with this sub category when you don't want it too. This destroys the paths to images, because they are still in the mame platform. It sometimes stops the Emulator assignment to the new platform, since the new platform is not assigned to the Mame platform any longer and expects to still be assigned to the Mame emulator. Around 70% of the time, the games will still have their emulator pointing to the old platform Mame emulator, whilst around 30% of my testing, shows that sometimes games will lose that assignment and a bug becomes apparent in which it requests this NEW platform needs a new emulator. You see it's not guaranteed this will happen everytime. To make drop down lists of games so they are organised into categories like I show in the first example, Launchbox MUST either copy everything, or copy nothing, not just some attributes, because this causes absolute hell. After moving to a new platform, the new platform should have the option to either use roms where they are OR move them over. (that would help a lot!!!) and the same goes for images, because images will still display like they are correctly pointed at that file path, "Until" you refresh, or have mercy you press clear unused images like I did... They will all be destroyed instantly. So the process of moving to a new platform (not creating a new one) is VERY rocky atm, and 99% of users will have their Mame setup already. Therefore, if they want to move game genres to becomes separate platforms on the left hand side, there is no clean way to do this currently. Hope that explains a good days work of testing for you Thanks
