DOS76 said Try your MAME.ini file and see if WriteConfig is set to 0 if it is change it to 1. I've had this issue with video settings not being remembered. Thanks for this tip. My WriteConfig was set to 0, so I changed it to 1... Will test over the next few days and report back. Appreciated!
  2. Using MameUIFX64 with 2 wireless xbox 360 controllers I have saved my gamepad settings (multiple times) using the tab key while in a game (under general settings), then exiting out. The next time I restart the pc and open mame inside launchbox, all of my gamepad settings are back to default. the mame folder is stored on the root drive and has full readwrite permissions. I cant for the life of me seem to figure this out. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
  3. fromlostdays said Even after the update, connecting 2 Xbox One controllers wirelessly to windows freezes up LaunchBox. I wasn't going to post about it here, because LaunchBox isn't the only thing that's affected. Has to be a windows issue, or something. If I have two controllers plugged in and try and open LaunchBox, nothing happens. Then, If I take the batteries out of one of the controllers, LaunchBox immediately pops open. Anyone able to connect 2 Wireless Xbox One controllers with no problems? Im having th Same exact issue here. after extensive testing, i personally think It's a Windows 10 issue with directX or direct input when using Xbox One controllers. Most of the emulators freeze and lockup with 2 Xbox one controllers. some emulators like MameUI freeze upon launch whenever an xbox one controller is active. I agree this is not a Launchbox issue and that it certainly seems to be a windows 10 issue. If so, Why doesn't microsoft do something about this or release some information for those experiencing issues? aren't they supposedly taking gaming more seriously on windows 10? Is there only a handful of people using Xbox one controllers and they literally don't prioritize a fix? hard to believe this is happening with their own hardware. I did extensive testing on this exact issue. Since then, I have switched back to using Xbox360 controllers with windows 10 and the issues have went away. It just doesn't make sense that we cannot use current Xbox one gamepads as intended. I really hope this issue gets fixed.
  4. Oddly, Retroarch seems to work without much issues. Its other Emu's like MameUI64, and some others that have issues with Xbox one controllers on windows 10 in my personal experiences When i switch back to using Xbox 360 controllers, everything works fine again. March 8th Microsoft update(KB3140768) had no effect for me. Same results on 3 different windows 10 PC's- can it be just me? I'm going to retire from this thread. If this ever starts working for me again, I will update here. thanks to all
  5. All i can tell you is my personal experience. For me, The Xbox one controllers still don't work with most emulators even after the latest windows 10 update. Same issues as i had described earlier in this thread. Its not an Nvidia issue. The issue appears to most likely have something to do with windows 10 when combined with Xbox one controllers and a good portion of the emulators. In my testing, when using xbox one controllers, most emulators hang at startup on 3 separate windows 10 PCs - issue is even worse when using 2 xbox one controllers. 2 things I will update everyone on: 1- As I said previously, This issue has nothing to do with LaunchBox.... LaunchBox itself is working great. 2- I purchased a pair of XBox 360 wireless controllers and Wireless PC dongle and stopped using my Xbox one controllers. Everything is now working great again the way it is supposed to.
  6. Something happened since the last update to windows 10 impacting anyone using Xbox one controllers with emulators. When the emulators try to access direct input, they hang, freeze or lockup. I have tested this on 3 different windows 10 machines since the march 1st update... they all have the same problem. It has nothing to do with the usb cable- I tested wireless and wired with same problems. When you unplug the xbox one controllers from the pc, the emulators stop hanging. at least 4 emulators have this issue, including MameUI64. the concern is that something changed here and it is causing direct x/direct input issues with most of the emulators for those using Xbox one controllers... possibly other controllers also??? This is not a Launchbox issue... its a windows direct input/ xbox one controller issue. Steam and windows PC gaming is not effected, so i dont know how to isolate what to do next. Are there any other here using Xbox one controllers with windows 10 and emulators? anyone else here using windows 10 with xbox one controllers that can share if this is also an issue for them?
  7. dovella- Thanks- I'm going to re-install windows 10 on a single partition without letting windows create the additional ones and report back.... any further info appreciated.
  8. I have the same EXACT issue.... after windows update yesterday I am CRIPPLED. None of my emulators work. MameUI64 hangs with a white screen whenever an Xbox one wireless controller is connected (the hanging stops when I unplug the wireless adapter) I am also using an Nvidia GTX760 with latest nvidia drivers. I tried doing a fresh install of windows 10, then updated, then installed Nvidia drivers, and BAM ... everything still hangs. I cannot configure wireless xbox One controllers inside of ANY emulator. Most of them just hang untill I diisconnect the XBOX one wireless adapter from the USB port..... I also tried connecting the Xbox one controller to a different Windows 10 PC.... one without an NVIDIA card (onboard graphics)- And once again, after updating windows 10 most emulators hang whenever the Xbox one wireless controllers are connected. I hope someone here can help figure this out.... I'm not sure what to try next... xbox one wireless controllers have been nothing but problems with windows 10.
  9. Looks like I spoke too soon. after 2 days of struggles, I cant get my Xbox one controllers to hold onto a configuration. wound up deleting the emulator from the system. anyone else able to make FBA work?
  10. works! ... (using latest compiled build feb 2016) Default command line parameters: fbas -g
  11. Thanks everyone for the feedback.... Basically, I am switching the dolphin-bar to "mode one" whenever i need to use a different emulator other that Dolphin. I would like to invite us all to revisit this thread at a later time if better alternatives become available then discussed. Thank you Launch-box team for this Wonderful application and making this all possible.
  12. Anyone here also using the mayflash dolphinbar? It seems to take port priority and causes terrible issues when using other emulators besides dolphin.... Windows keeps changing the assigned joystick ports to my 2 wireless controllers every time I restart the PC. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out a fix. If I configure my wireless controllers for an emulator , the ports change on reboot and the controllers stop working. Is there a fix or another application workaround other than disabling the dolphinbar each time I start a different emulator?
  13. thanks... Will try some more before giving up- ... By the way, - The "all" category is also holding onto the deleted platform, so even if I can create a new platform and re-add, I'm afraid I will be forced to manually fix the "all" folder
  14. I'm on the latest official release V5.5- thanks for the tips ... When i look at the XML there are *many* entries that would have to be removed.... afraid it would take hours and be tedious to edit the XML to say the least. The XML entries are not by platform neither so I could not simply highlight and delete.... In the future before adding each new platform I will save the XML first and hope it could be swapped out if this happens again... rebuilding from scratch would be brutal. any other feedback or thoughts is welcome on the above issue!!
  15. I clicked on "manage platforms" then deleted genesis. - then I attempted to re-find and add all the games. The database shows the list of all games that will be added, but when i confirm to add, it shows ZERO games added. I tried deleted and re-adding the platform (import new roms) but Launch-box continues to not find anything. Is there a way to clear the database section after a platform is deleted? I have icons all over the place even though the platform was deleted- its my guess the database XML is apparently holding on to the deleted files, and I cannot re-add the collection. AM i doing something wrong? Appreciate any help- I recently purchased the Premium version but am struggling. I already have put in lots of work with multiple platforms and dread having to start from scratch. Regards... and thanks for this nice application... I really like it otherwise than the above issue!!!
