  1. I had that issue at one point In the past, but in my own case, updating from Vlc 2.x to 3.x helped a-lot to mitigate this issue... I still see artifacts (rarely) when switching between platforms, but changing the vlc version to the latest helped a good deal.
  2. I typically recommended switching to mode 4 on the mayflash dolphin bar when Wii is in use, Then switch back to mode 1 (pc mode) for everything else...should have no issues with that arrangement.... What can be tricky I've found for me is that is wireless controllers sometimes can get re-mapped to different ports if using Windows 10... So tweak if need be i guess... There are some other threads in this forum from others that also might shed some light
  3. Ok, no prob..received help from another forum on this and got what I needed...this being said, for what it was worth, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here first since I've been a member of this community for close to 4 years now... better off going straight to the source i guess for these kind of things, but thanks anyways.. This thread can be deleted if you so choose.... Mazjohn, aka...Mr. Arcade
  4. Anyone have the v0.201 core to share? (mame_libretro.dll) ? Retroarch moved on to 0.204... Does anyone know of an archive post to obtain previous retroarch cores? its no longer hosted by Libretro. thanks much, mr. Arcade
  5. You could convert over to chd... This saves a lot of space....then use a combination of paid standalone redream and demul with its newer chd plugin. For redream, I recommend the development build and find it to run pretty darn well. Its a combination of the 2. I personally suspect redream will take over demul at its current development pace at some point.
  6. unless mistaken, The ability to simply pull down and add a single game is missing. In the old launch box, you pull down the game menu, then would select "add"..... this is needed badly to be added back... using add windows games searches your entire hard drive and is not accurate and takes too long to complete.... I appreciate the simplicity of just using the "add" option when I just want to populate a single game quickly... thanks- <<< [MR. ARCADE] >>>
  7. THANK YOU CriticalCid. A Hyper-Spin theme of this caliber supporting so many systems was greatly needed for Big-Box. This will be my "go to" theme from this point forwards. GREAT WORK.
  8. Just commenting to say WOW...thank you for this and keep up the great work> ...this is a greatly needed feature for those emulating PS2 with Launch box. Simply incredible and very functional.
  9. I've got a choice to make.... can you guys give advice, strictly for a dedicated emulation and Launchbox build: For PS2, ps3,dolphin, cemu, Saturn, dreamcast ..Should I use an available Ryzen i7 1700 build (at3.8ghz) with 16gb 3200mhz ram and 1060sc? OR would I be better off sacrificing the cost to purchase the i7 8700k CPU ,16gb ram with 1060sc? Would the higher core per clock (overclock speed) of the 8700K benefit me over the Ryzen 1700 strictly for emulation or would that be throwing money away?
  10. Hey Stevaside, thanks- Always appreciated. What I've resorted to out of desperation is to start doing FP screenshots and screen caps... painful but I might work on it when time permits... having the time is the biggest challenge.. are there any tutorials known to help get visual pinball working with Launch box? Thanks
  11. Hi all, just to add to this... I created a ticket for this very same issue about a month ago but it wasn't responded to. I found and reported that Epsxe has this problem whenever you use the auto hotkey script to exit the emulator. When you remove the auto hot key script from launch box and epsxe, the problem goes away. For me, The resolution issue with epsxe only occurs inside launch-box when using the auto hot key script. When you exit epsxe outside of launch box, the issue does not occur- so it seems the issue to be launchbox and autohotkey script specific only.. not the emulator itself. at least in my case.. I appreciate any heads up to Jason or someone at least looking into this.... please remember some of us use our 55 inch+ 4K displays and not arcade cabinets with launch box... This being said, launch Box is truly amazing and I appreciate it and all the hard work that it takes to bring it to us... it changes the way I game on my htpc !
  12. I enjoy Future Pinball tables as well thanks to the excellent modified launch executable posted by one of the members and it works very well with Launchbox. I agree there has not been as much focus on Pinball emulation. I would hope its possible in near future to see better direct integration with both Future Pinball and Visual pinball, with full support for metadata. Right now I'm just using a generic box cover image for my box art.... I guess It's more up to the community to grow this and build a following for it...
  13. Utrez, thanks- the controllerremapgui utility looks like it might be of help. Thanks for sharing, Are there any specific Launchbox configuration settings that can be used to have the utility work together with Launchbox and Mame? Thatman, thanks for the video... i'll check that out as well
  14. update: Having the Same issue using the latest Xbox wireless Bluetooth controllers. I've even tried putting the configuration file into the "ctrlr" folder and pointing the mame.ini to use it.... it helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. Apparently there is a way with Mame to force (remap) joypad port mappings using the specific device id within a config file.... I haven't gotten it to work. anybody have a clue how to do this with xbox one wireless controllers? The reason to do this is so that mame uses the same gamepad port mappings each time mame launches I am not certain, since i am not a programmer by any means.....but Launchbox hand-off to mame *may* also be inconsistent when passing the joypad port information. I've opened a ticket with Jason to see if there is anything worth looking into regarding this and Mame integration with Launchbox. Here is some documentaion about this: http://docs.mamedev.org/advanced/devicemap.html and here is the config file I tried... i dropped it into the ctrlr folder and instructed the mame.ini folder to look there during launch..... no luck... do i need device ID's or just use x-input? Is there anything else noticeably wrong with the code? code: <mameconfig version="10"> <system name="default"> <mameconfig version=”10”> <system name=”default”> <input> <mapdevice device=”XInput Player 1” controller=”JOYCODE_1” /> <mapdevice device=”XInput Player 2” controller=”JOYCODE_2” /> </input> </system> </mameconfig>
  15. Q-Have you tried the base command line version of Mame ? Yes i've tried that as well- , command line has same issue for me. Behavior is the same. ... the default.cfg file in Mame keeps getting erased to defaults when the wireless controller port mappings change, or when the wireless controller or pc turns off. I assume I am in a small niche here using Xbox one wireless controllers combined with Mame and Launchbox???.... I've experienced this same behavior on 3 different PC's, and Mame seems to behave the same way for me on all 3 test boxes.... no joy here. Retroarch doesnt seem to be effected much by this as badly as Mame... Maybe its just me having an isolated issue. I personally think its just how window 10 is dynamically mapping wireless controllers and how Mame and launch-box picks them up. I tested this with the Xbox 360 adapter and 360 wireless controllers and had the same exact issue. Tomorrow I will purchase an Xbox one S wireless controller and test with that since it uses Bluetooth instead of these wireless adapters.... what i am trying to figure out is if wireless Bluetooth holds onto the same controller ports when it syncs each time in windows... maybe Bluetooth controllers do not experience this issue and it only occurs with the Microsoft Wireless adapters? any feedback appreciated if anyone else in this forum has experience with Bluetooth game-pads or if wired controllers work or not This all seems much time invested... lol
  16. Right click on the platform list over the playlist you wish to hide... as illustrated above. The click edit, then un-check the box "include this playlist in platforms list" to hide it.... then save changes. MAZJOHN AKA - "Mr. Arcade"
  17. With the latest beta, If u right click on the platform from inside launchbox, you can right click on it and then choose edit, then check to hide a platform. Not sure how far back this feature was added.
  18. Same exact problem here. I reported it in a separate thread. I'm personally convinced Its an issue with the way Mame handles Joystick port mappings. The issue becomes real bad for me since I am using wireless xbox one controllers. Every time the controllers disconnect, timeout, or the pc reboots, mame loses its mapped gamepad configurations. The best I can tell is that Mame does a check each and every time its launched and assigns the controllers as they become available.. Its not a static assignment. I think its using Xinput from windows to check and determine if gamepads are attached. The other problem on top of all this, is that Windows 10 keeps changing the joystick port mapping assignments to its wireless adapter, so everytime the pc starts, there's a good chance it It grabs a different port for the gamepad. For extra "fun" , try adding in a Dolphin Bar, ... lol. my head really begins to hurt. Would love to hear if anyone else has had this or resolved. Lord Monkus had provided me a great tip to set the CFG folder in mame to read only after configuring the gamepad inputs. That should work in blocking the gamepad values from being overwritten, however it seems that windows 10 on reboot randomly changes the gamepad port mappings, so if you lock them in with mame and then windows changes them again, your literally SOL ..... Windows 10 permission settings don't seem to always work properly when making folders read only and restricting access. I've had issues restricting permissions on multiple machines. It's apparently not a Launchbox issue, but more a problem with the way Mame handles things. My question here is, can the Launchbox dev team find a way to tame the way Mame behaves ? Is it worth opening a ticket for this?
  19. Lordmonkus, regrettably I spoke too soon. same problem has returned as described in my original post. does anyone use mameUI.exe with launchbox that could provide any other suggestions? anyone else experience this and could share ideas? as stated above, Joystick mappings get deleted on wireless controllers upon relaunch or reboot. apparently the Mame application has major problems with joystick detection and settings retention. other emulators dont have this issue for me. Of course with my luck the most important emulator of them all is the one with the issues. thanks....
  20. Thanks Dos76 - humbly asking... more specific? Hunting around... where to go to change this setting in bigbox/ Launchbox? the view pull-down does not seem to have a way to select the view change? thanks, MAZJOHN : AKA MR. Arcade
  21. Refer to my post here.. i think maybe it can help you
  22. If you are using retro-arch, try having Retro-arch point to the .ISO files instead of the .cue files. Retro-arch needs to point to the ISO and NOT the CUE file in order for it to work. The .7Z compressed probably will not work with Retro-arch... you would need to extract and point to the .ISO files
  23. I hid one of the created playlists from showing in the main menu by right clicking and unchecking "include this playlist in platform menu". (Sega Naomi) Now I can't figure out how to get it to show again. I've asked launch box to add missing playlists, but it doesn't add it back... probably cause it was hidden and not deleted. I'm sure there must be a real simple way to get it to show again but i can't seem to figure it out, appreciate any ideas. thanks,
