  1. Yeah maybe something like that would work. Here is where my problem started. Originally, the marquee area just used the clear logo (except for MAME games). The issue was someone asked if they could have a marquee image instead of the clear logo because the clear logo was already shown below on the wheel. They didn't like the look and I thought it was a good request. The mame games always used a marquee that was different than the clear logo. I had a pretty full set of marquees for mame so I never saw any problems when testing. It was only when I added marquee support for the other systems that I started seeing some problems. I'm using the Community Theme Creator to bulid the theme. I added the arcade - marquee as the image to display in that area. I was going to use the visibilty conditions to show the clear logo in the event the marquee didn't show and this works but because the settings for that area were stretced to fill the whole marquee area, when the the clear logo was shown it too was stretched and looked weird. To overcome this, I creted an image in a new layer to show in the same area (but not stretched in the whole marquee area) but it remains hidden unless an image file doesn't exist for the marquee. This works well, but the image priorities kicks in and foils my plans, LOL. I still feel like there is some kind of visibility condioning that can be applied here to get the result I'm after. Maybe I need to consult @y2guru to see if he knows a way I can get it to work.
  2. Thanks. Hopefully adding marquee image priorities to Launchbox can get some traction.
  3. Is there something I'm missing about how image priorities work? The theme I've built (Vertical Aspirations) uses marquee images for each game. I'd like to not show anything at all in the marquee area if there are no marquee images in the arcade - marquee images folders for each system. Unfortunately, in testing I'm seeing that even though there are no images in that folder, and marquees are not selected in any of the image priorities categories, I'm still seeing other art from the box front image priorities category show up where the marquee image would be. The only way I've found to suppress other image types from showing up there, is by un-checking every image type in Box Front image priorities. This breaks viewing box front art in other areas so obviously I don't want to have to tell people that download the theme that they have to do that, but I see no other way to do this. Is there something I'm overlooking or is this the only way to accomplish this?
  4. About the latest update to the theme... I found out last night that I missed implementing the new marquee stuff I was doing to a few of the views. I'll try to put out an update tonight or tomorrow. I'm also looking into creating some custom platform banners to specifically fit in the marquee area of this theme. If anyone knows of some marquee suitable platform banner images that will fit in the marquee area without using stretch fill (or very little stretch), I would love to know where I could find them. The marquee area is roughly 1080 x 350.
  5. Read through that post that @JoeViking245 shared. Looks like you can use alt-f4 if you set up the autohotkey stuff properly with the running autohotkey script tab of edit emulator for fx3 within Launchbox.
  6. I don't use Alt-f4 for PinballFX3. I don't think it plays nice with the software. I just use the esc key and back out of the tables and do a graceful exit. Not ideal, I know, but that's how I do it. To be honest though, although I have all those tables and have them set up, but I don't really play them that much. Someone else might have a better solution I'm not aware of. There's another guy on the forums here, @sundogak that is pretty knowledgeable about virtual pinball and BigBox. He might have a better solution than me. Also, do you mean when you use alt F4 it exits the game back to Bigbox or literally removes the game from the wheel? That would be weird. I'm using the Steam version and no rocket launcher, just BigBox. Non steam versions shouldn't have any problems either though. Good luck.
  7. Version 1.2 has just been released. Please view the readme if upgrading. You might need to do some extra stuff to get the marquees looking the way they should.
  8. I have considered adding a vertical bezel on some views but I haven't figured out the best way to go about it yet. I'll try to come up with something to put out in the next release, hopefully tonight or some time this weekend. Honestly though, I was going to do this to accommodate vertical Mame games. Pinball tables don't use a screen or a bezel in real life so building this out for pinball tables never occurred to me. No reason you can't use that view for pinball however once the view is built into the theme. It will support Marquees as well.
  9. @SilverChin How is this? This is using alternate clear logos I found somewhere that I placed in the \Launchbox\Images\Pinball FX3\Arcade - Marquee folder. Pinball doesn't really have marquees unless you consider the backbox to be the marquee. These look like the ones the CoinOps guys are using on their Arcade vs Pinball builds, so I assume these are what you were talking about. If you like it, I'll put out an updated release tomorrow evening.
  10. @Huntsmiester Try this out. Let me know how it goes for you. I built it on 1x1 ratio.VideoBox 1x1 ratio.zip
  11. You can copy out the images from the VideoBox theme and use them in your theme. I beleive they are in the Media/main folder. Not entirely sure about that since I'm at work but you should be able to find them.
  12. When you download the Theme Builder Program it comes in a zip file. Before you extract the files, you must right click the zip and click properties and click the unblock check box. If you don't, the program will throw errors when you try to run it. The Theme Builder program (as far as I know) currently only works in 16x9 (horizontal), 4x3 (horizontal) or stretch to monitor size, so editing the theme stretched to your aspect ratio would be the way to do it. I think you will be frustrated if you try to edit anything for that aspect ratio from a landscape oriented monitor. My vertical themes were created on a vertical monitor using the stretch ratio because the Theme Builder currently will not let me edit a vertical theme on a landscape monitor. The next big update to the Theme Creator is supposed to include vertical layouts so that will be nice, but I think you'll still have an issue with a 1x1 ratio unless you edit directly in a monitor with that ratio with the stretch ratio enabled. If I get a chance (and remember to look into it), I'll play around with my monitor (also 4k) and see if I can get a 1x1 ratio. If I can, I'll try to put out an alternate theme for you.
  13. Are you using the full-screen pinball playfield view for pinball, or are you use the default games view? The image below is the intended pinball view. Is this where you'd like to see the marquee/backbox image? I could possibly set it up to use a marquee on the top with a fallback to use a clear logo if no marquee is found.
  14. Gosh you know, I'm really not sure how you would do this. You'll need to probably edit that file, but I'm not really sure what you would edit. I would think for rare cases like yours, editing the Theme Builder Files directly on a monitor with that resolution would be the best option. How are you setting the custom size? If I can duplicate that, I can customize the theme for you.
  15. @pahleto OK, so I've been messing around a bit with this. When you say Star Rating, do you mean community rating or user rating? I have to admit that I don't really use any of that stuff, but I can see how some folks would like to have it. I've come up with something that maintains the minimalist look of the theme and includes your requests (with community rating). I can let you try it out and see if it works for you. I've basically put those text fields on the bottom of the screen. When you land on a game in the wheel, the text pops up for a few seconds then disappears. If you think its useful, I might go ahead and update all the views and include it in a future release once version 1.0.9.0 of the Theme Creator is released and I have time to go over everything. I'll send you a private message with the theme files for you to try.
  16. I'm glad you like the theme. To be honest, I'm not that super stoked to share the maker files publicly, but I might be able share with you on an individual basis. Alternatively I can try to make some views that include what you're asking for, but it would probably only apply to the main games view and I don't really want to do anything else to the theme until Community Theme Creator 1.0.9.0 is released.
  17. Oh, OK. I didn't know that. I thought they stayed the same as in the editor. If not, they should be in a folder named Main inside the (I think) Media folder. I'll try to remember to share the project files tonight.
  18. I don't mind at all! I've already left for the day so I'm unable to share the Theme Builder stuff right now. I can share it with you this evening if you like, or you can just use the files from the theme and re-create it. There's not much to the theme so it wouldn't be hard to recreate if you are anxious to get started.
  19. The labels are in my clear logos folder. Yes there is a label for every song. They are part of the media pack I mentioned (doing a Google search for the Jukebox Frontend). I could certainly re-work it to have a static label there with text that appears for each artist. Would that work better? Now that you've brought that up, it actually might be an easier solution. Then you could just add videos at will and not worry about creating media. I'm not against sharing the Community Theme Builder files if someone would like to collaborate. One thing I would like is the ability to play each video fully in attract mode before randomly going to the next artist. I'm guessing that will require some programming on Jason's side or someone to create a clever plugin. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I didn't remember to follow my own post and didn't get a notification.
  20. VideoBox View File A Music Video Theme. Originally, I was creating this as a platform view for my Vertical Aspirations theme, but I liked it so much, I decided to recreate it as it's own theme. It can be run stand alone as a Jukebox, or you can add your own video Jukebox platform and select it as the theme for that platform. You'll have to supply your own media. If you do a Google search for jukebox frontend, you might find some. You'll need to set up a platform for music videos. I'm using VLC as the emulator using --fullscreen --play-and-exit for the command line parameters. In addition to launching videos, I have several vlc playlists set up. The playlists I set up individually with --random --fullscreen as the command line parameters. RetroArch also has an FFMPEG core that will play videos, but I haven't found a way for it to use playlists yet. If playlists ever get implemented, it will be a great way to have random videos play forever in a bezel. Note: This was created on, and for, 9:16 oriented monitors running in portrait mode. Landscape mode will likely not work at all for this. Horizontal theme added. Select VideoBox in the download for horizontal theme. Select VideoBox Vertical for vertical theme. This is a bare-bones theme. You can run it by itself if you like, but I imagine most people will want to run it as its own view within their theme of choice. In order to do this, in the controller mappings or keyboard mappings section within BigBox options settings, set up the keys for switch theme and switch views. The image below is for reference only. You don't have to use the same keys I'm using. When you go into the platform you'll set up for Music Videos, press your newly assigned button for change theme to bring up the theme menu. Select VideoBox. Once the theme loads you may need to hit the change view button you set up earlier a few times to get to the proper view. Let me know in the comments if you like it, see something that needs improvement, or you have other questions. 22. Whoa! This is seriously cool! I built a bar-top a few years ago and customized the starfighter logo to suit my needs. Nothing nearly as cool looking as your cab though!
  23. The ticket I created is here and has about 8 votes. Perhaps these tickets should be combined? https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/1446/autohotkey-on-a-per-game-basis
