  1. Oh cool. It must be image priorities settings that are built in to Launchbox/Bigbox. I didn't think of that. I hope it works out for you. Let me know if there is anything odd that you'd like me to look at. I know it must be hard to work with that custom screen size. BTW: If you want, you can remove the template image and throw your own bezel in its place. You just need to rename it to the same thing.
  2. Oh, I see. Yeah, if you only wanted an image, that is easy to do as well. Not sure why I didn't do it like this to begin with, but I should use a screenshot as the fallback in that space.
  3. Heres what I got for you. Took me about an hour. Honestly the hardest part was downloading and installing GIMP on this computer so I could edit your bezel/template image. Still not sure how, or why you want that image covering the video area so I left it out. I included the Theme Creator Files so you can download the Community Theme Creator and edit it to your heart's content. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o6i9909gn3jkcpi/AAAovbrS4JyX6P3M4mNVUOZma?dl=0 2020-10-14 20-13-20.mp4
  4. Little late to the party, but I just wanted to chime in that my wheel image caching issues seem to be resolved. Thanks for the quick fix!
  5. Something like this? Or literally just a game screenshot on the side of the screen? You know, If I get the marquee, and wheel, and the bounds box for the video exactly where you want them, you could just drop your own bezel file in there and overwrite whatever image I use for the bezel. Anyhow, I won't be able to do anything from work. I only have access to MS Paint here, LOL. But honestly, I could probably knock something like this out pretty quick
  6. That's cool. We can always use more vertical themes. I left out the cover flow wheel due to personal taste, but it's something I might visit in the future. Are you going for Arcade only, or are you doing consoles and other systems too? Maybe we could collaborate on something some time.
  7. Cool design on your cab there. I'm not really sure about modifying existing themes. I think it would probably be simpler in the long run if you just designed your own. If you message me a generic bezel, I might be able to knock out a simple theme for you. They are pretty simple to make with the Community Theme Builder.
  8. Looks good! You could delete the joystick gif in the theme folder if you would prefer to use the regular wheel. I might try to incorporate something like this in a future version of the theme. Give the user the option to create their own controller graphic. The inclusion of a graphic of the controls right in the frontend would be a good thing to have as it is missing in most themes. Especially considering how much space is available on the theme. Some pause menus show a controller configuration, but being able to see what the controls do in the frontend would ba a welcome addition. Thanks for the image. Let me know if you need anything else customized.
  9. I've noticed my wheel has been disappearing as well after letting BigBox run all day. This just started with 11.6. Wasn't sure if it was my theme, or maybe a recent update with the Community Theme Creator that I edited my theme with, or maybe the last Launchbox update. Sorry, I'm not much help narrowing it down, LOL. Just reporting.
  10. I'll try to get to this in the next week or so. I work and have a long commute so I don't have a lot of free time, but I do intend to whip something out on this soon.
  11. Thank you Jason and y2guru. I looked into changing the font scaling myself by hand, but I was a little lost when I looked into it. That's why I love the Theme Creator so much. I do appreciate everything you guys do. Sorry if my comment sounded demanding or accusatory. In defending my position it may have sounded that way, but it wasn't my intent.
  12. Yep. Pinup, Pinball X, and Pinball Y are the major frontend players in virtual pinball. I agree with Jason. Its a big mess to deal with. Maybe he can invest some time in it when he has run out of other ideas for Launchbox/Bigbox.
  13. You're missing the point. For vertically oriented screens, it is broken - with any theme. As you say, "it needs to work, always". It doesn't. If the font simply scaled down in the options view when in vertical mode, we wouldn't need to change anything, eliminating the limited customization you refer to. I challenge you to rotate your monitor vertically, go into portrait mode, and load a theme. Then go into options view. Tell me how you get along with that. Then tell me if vertical theme creators are not going to try to customize that creating more problems.
  14. "Options view is broken ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" Hey man. I experienced the same thing with my vertical theme. At one point @y2guru said he wasn't interested in messing with the options page stuff, but then I think he might have changed his mind about it? I'm not really sure. I asked Faeran for permission to use his options code on my theme and I kind of repurposed it a bit to make it work. Perhaps @Jason Carr could take a look and see if there is a way to scale the font sizes down in the options page while in vertical orientation. As it is now, browsing the *default* options page in vertical orientation is almost impossible. Anyhow. Just wanted to drop by and let you know your theme is coming along nicely. Take care.
  15. Is this something you'd need for all views including the various console views, or just the main view? There are quite a few views I would need to alter, which would be OK, but if you don't use those other views, it would be easier for me to just make the one change. I would likely not release this into the wild and just share it with you unless there is demand for it.
  16. Yeah I could probably add something like that. I would need to add a generic controller in that space and (in the theme folder) you could replace the image with your own. Are you looking to replace the joystick graphic altogether? The one that moves back and forth?
  17. I'm not sure I'm following what you mean. I understand the image of the controller and overview part, but where specifically are you wanting to see it?
  18. Glad its working well for you. Let me know if there is anything about the theme you'd like to see improved upon.
  19. Vertical Aspirations Console Bezels View File This is the bezel set I created for use with vertically oriented monitors, and is the companion set for the Vertical Aspirations BigBox theme. The set includes the major consoles (*pre analog controls) NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Atari 2600, etc, etc. Each Retroarch console has two Overlay Borders. One with bezel and one without. I did this so you can use something like the HSM Mega Bezel Reflection Shader with the overlay if you are so inclined. I've noticed the shader is a little resource hungry so I've included the bezel versions here in case that shader slows your system down too much. If your system is fast enough. I highly recommend using the HSM shader. I have also included in the set, per-game bezels for Vectrex that utilize the overlays that were included in the physical games as well as several per game bezels for Intellevision that include the physical overlays that were included with the games for use with the game pads. (see below) This is nice so you can see what controls do what for the game you are playing. I may create a set like this for ColecoVision in the future. There is also a generic MAME Bezel I've included in the folder created by Chad Wedlake from his youtube channel. All the console bezels in this folder are derivative of his MAME bezels. As with the Vertical Aspirations BigBox theme, you'll need to be running Windows in portrait mode for these to be of any use to you. *At this point I'm not considering making bezels for newer generation consoles that use analog sticks on the controllers. This set was built with Arcade Cabinets in mind that do not typically use analog stick controls. Submitter JaysArcade Submitted 08/22/2020 Category Platform Bezels/Overlays

  21. Thank you! This is the first feedback I've received, and its good to hear someone likes the theme. I would LOVE to see a picture of your cab with the theme running. I built the theme with the intention of building my own copycat Rec-Room masters vertical cabinet, but other projects got in the way this summer and I haven't gotten around to building it yet. I do have the overlays and cfgs for several consoles. I've made different variations of each one. One variation with bezels and one without so you can use someting like the HSM Mega Bezel Reflection Shader with the overlay. I highly recommend that shader if your system is beefy enough to handle all that. I'll try to release what I have soon.
