  1. It has been a year or two since I worked on this stuff. I am working on something to make a "legit" library (no hacks and or crazy fake made up things) as I can. I had an idea on a naming convention and a db to use. Along with correct front covers. I am one person and only have a week or two of free time to do this. Is there any interest? If so let me know. The naming convention should not ever change, history has already established the facts, so if loaded to your LaunchBoxDB it should cause every game named this way to be correct and yet still understandable outside of a frontend. Otherwise I am just doing it for my own laughs.
  2. I am almost done with my PlayStation bios project. anyone want to check my work when I am done?
  3. I used their psx list on my database and it said that multiple tracks of games i had were from games I do not have.
  4. Is it just me or is Re-Dump.org a joke or what? Nothing I have researched from them is correct, they have region codes wrong, bios images are labeled wrong, and their dat files tear apart libraries. Anyone else have any success with their info.
  5. Error can't open sound handler. (Try -nosound) Since I updated to 6.8, this is the error I keep getting trying to run epsxe. Any advise. Down grading to 6.7 will fix the issue.
  6. I learned something I want to share. I assume some of you know this already, but knowing I can not be the only one to have this issue I am sharing. I have spent over two weeks researching and looking for this. Hopefully this will lessen the confusion people like me might be having. The newest release of epsxe 2.0.5 comes with a plug in called Pete's OpenGL2 GPU core 2.0.0. I will get to this in a second. Every tutorial and search I have done has lead to nothing but ranting about Pete's OpenGL2 GPU core 2.9. People have even gone as far to say that 2.0.0 is not the latest nor is it the best. Through trial and error and a lot of worthless internet searches, on my part. (nothing I have found on the internet says this, but this is what I have found.) In your epsxe 2.0.5 folder. there is a sub-directory called configs. this is the directory that stores per game settings. Instead of you using 2.9, use 2.0.0, it seems to be the exact same plug in minus the threading options. When using that plug in you can set up the settings start the game and press ESC -> Options - > Game Profiles -> Save Profile - If you are set up correctly, and amusing nothing unforeseen happens, no matter what you change the settings to after that, ever time you launch that game it uses those setting. You have to delete the saved profile to set new settings. The profile is saved using the SLUS or SCUS code of the game. So that profile is for that game and that game alone. PS. is there a way we can change the tile to epsxe Game Profile or something like that so if anyone searches for this topic they can find it.
  7. Hey no problem, I have been working on 1200 ps one games, I keep getting side tracked from psp, I am looking at the SC SL numbers finding the artwork and composing a list of title names based on your rules, it will take a few days. I really love LaunchBox, I have some time right now, I have been digging into is settings and stuff, And I have a few Ideas. I wont tell you right now because every time I think of one I eventually find a way to actually do it in LaunchBox. Amazing work you have done here.
  8. Ok, I started my own thread so I can do this, I about to go through 1200 psp roms, I have already ran into 7 games not listed or missing cover art, and I am only 100 in. Then I got a idea, when you update the information in LaunchBox, can you export the meta data or database (my terminology might be incorrect). That way I can just get my library correct, and then submit my entire psp library with cover art at one time. or would it just be better to zip this stuff up and list it on a spreadsheet. The reason I am asking this is entering each game one at a time seems tedious. Also, I am not sure where to submit my cover art. I have already asked this in another post, but for my I am trying to keep all my info on this project in one place. If this is thread is not warranted, please go ahead and delete is. Thanks again for all your guys support and assistance.
  9. where do you upload cover art that is missing, I found a really nice 640 1107 300: March to Glory psp box front
  10. Sorry, when I get here I am very tired and not thinking very well, I appreciate your explanation and will definitely look into this. One question if I may, Will or can it be set up to load profiles for epsxe? I know epsxe is suppose to remember your settings ever time you save a profile and relaunch a game, but that does not work? it remembers your plugin, but totally has no idea what your settings are.
  11. I have not used Saturn emus for so long I will have to see one of the new ones, because I do not remember this.
  12. system date, if your referring to game release date, I totally misunderstood.
  13. if you set the date to Christmas, you see Santa, if you set it based on the moon phases you can see the moon go from crescent to full and back
  14. cant you just hit ctrl-a and then right click edit to change apps?
  15. if they remove the clock setting, what would be the effect on games like Christmas Nights Into Dreams - it has some time and date things.
  16. what do you mean "additional apps"
  17. Ok, Im not sure what you are trying to tell me. I am sure I did not say change the game. As far as putting a game in the same entry for each region, that is just a bad Idea. 90% of all games release in the us are the exact same game release in English in other places,(only the region chip was changed). a few exceptions to a few games, cover art changed, title screen changed, names changed, those are different game, But there is not way I going to copy Mario Bros. to JP,EU,US,BZ,FR,GR,GB - they are all different regions but it is the same rom. so with that said, I "will" take a rom out of a collection and rename as I see fit for me. but the db, you can have one entry, and multiple tags. But you do not need them. These tags are superficial to the real issue, The real issue, which I am not sure If I did not explain my self correctly or I let my self go off in the wrong direction, is Famicom is not NES. You can have one library for NES. It can contain every rom ever made for ever region, chances are if you collect a single rom for each listing your going to increase your library from 700m to 1.2 g for no reason. As far as this post, I am really sorry I high jacked it, I apologize whole-heartedly, I was just trying to ask for further information and drop a little bit of an opinion on helping the community with an accurate complete database.
  18. @kmccb23 if you want I created a clrMAMEpro .dat that will go through your roms and sort out and LaunchBox name the files for the 677 US region-ed games for the NES. I used all the highest revisions for single entry on the duplicates so you get the most current version and only one game entry. Just let me know if this is of interest to you. Also sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I decided that you using my bat files might be confusing, since I made them I know what they are suppose to do. So I created this for you instead.
  19. ok, so all the front, back, and spines i have for 3-D art that looks exactly like the original is what you considered as reconstructed. Got it. If it looks exact, why would you want to use the really bad scratched faded and stained originals? Also, can anyone tell me why there is such a push to combine Famicom with NES. I get that ultimately they are the same, but for continuity and library consistency. They are not even close. The console was different, the carts where different, the art work was different, and in some cases the context of the game such as dialog and abilities are different, not to mention that most Famicom games are in Japanese. NES of America had a long standing "censorship" program that removed things such as sexual and alcohol references, death, life, religious symbols, and a whole slew of other things. As for the libraries being consistent, almost every game made in the US was made in Japan first, that would double the sheer size of artwork and other stuff for every one of those games. It is my opinion, the libraries should stay separated for that reason. JMO. The reason I am asking these questions, is because I am legitimately an O.C.D person. Everything has to have a place and everything in its place. With that said, I can not read Japanese so I do not do that region. I have put a ton of work in for building a complete library for NES roms region-ed for the US. During my research, I have found that almost every game released in English, in other regions, was the same game with a region chip, minus a few exceptions. I want to contribute but I do not want to repeat already completed work. or provide a sample of US information just to be told that this is not a complete listing. My fear is that I provide my information which looks like this. Manufacture Console Box Title Screen Title Serial – Region Publisher Release LaunchBox Title LaunchBox Folder Title File Name Imports Nintendo Nintendo Entertainment System Abadox: The Deadly Inner War Abadox [NES-A3-USA] Milton Bradley 1990 Abadox: The Deadly Inner War Abadox_ The Deadly Inner War [1990] Abadox – The Deadly Inner War Yes (copy and past did not work well) is to much info or not enough. And my biggest fear is that all my work would be a waste to the community. This list is not 100% but for US roms I know there are 5 games that will not import without user interaction. Alien³ which you already know about. It has also helped me narrow down 2 Pac-Man games that will not import or show art correctly as well as two Indian Jones games. Where and how would I make suggestions on fixes for these. Thanks for you consideration and attention. I am loving the concept of LaunchBox and will do what ever I can do assist in creating and maintaining and accurate databse.
  20. before I attempt to assist with this question what are the rules about links I have a way for you to reduce the size of the library, audit the roms keep the ones you want and I even wrote a batch file that will leave you with nothing but NTSC nes roms to import but you will need some stuff from the net, and I do not want to violate any rules about posting links I am attempting to write batches for nes, snes, sms, sgen, ps1 ps2 ps3 etc. but my nes one is the only one that is complete (for all US versions). its very raw and no options but will leave you with all known good USA/NTSC nes roms properly labeled files with revisions
