Not in Windows platform, but there are some Doom games in Mame. I imported with force duplicate and got it. But it didn't find any art. I put an image named Doom.jpg in the images\windows\front folders but still no image art?

And there you have it. Worked doing it that way, thank you! Except it refuses to get the latest Doom game shortcut, just like it failed with Steam! Maybe it thinks it is a duplicate??

I just tried drag/drop my windows game shortcuts into Windows platform that have not been imported yet, but it did not import any of them (and I had to choose ms-dos games or roms so i chose ms-dos)? The import wizard did come up and I went through it. I chose to copy files (actually shortcut links) to LB. What's the trick?

Hi, I'm a newly licensed LB user with 6.7 installed, and I just imported my Steam games using the Wizard the other day. I have 12 Steam games total (installed and uninstalled). All 12 games show up in my Steam public profile. But LB can't seem to get the new Doom game imported for some reason. I have tried the steam import wizard twice now, but I always end up with 11 games and I am showing hidden games too. Not really sure where else to look to find the problem. Any LB import logs exits?

I just noticed that when I did the Steam import wizard the other day that it missed one game. It did not import the new Doom game. That game is listed in my public profile like all the others. So I just ran Steam import again and it said it didn't find anything new. Must be a LB bug?

I just tried it and it did not ask me to pick any emulator. But it only got my 4 Origin games and those appear in Windows platform fine. They do not appear to have any emulator associated to them. Cool. Maybe the developers improved the Wizard in my version. The others it found were not correct so I had to press delete on those ones. So for those other ones (like Blizzard and non launcher games, I will try drag drop to LB Windows Platform and see what happens.

Are you guys saying I can just drag and drop my existing game shortcuts (with launchers and without) into my LB "Windows" platform and that should add those shortcuts so they will just get run as though i double clicked the shortcut? Because that seems like what I want. First I am trying the Import Windows Games wizard and will see if that works well and finds everything or not.

Hi locvez, thanks for helping. Rocket launcher is set with WinUAE for "Commodore Amiga" and it uses my Amiga game roms that are in zip files. Launching directly from RL or Hyperspin works. Rom file location: R:\Arcade\Commodore Amiga\roms Emulator Location: R:\Arcade\Emulators\WinUAE In LB, inside Manage Emulators, I have a "Emulator" named Rocketlauncher. And in there it has "Amiga" in the associated platforms tab. The Amiga platform has the following command line parameter: -f ":\LauncBox\LaunchBox.exe" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "Commodore Amiga" -r I think that's about it. I have Amiga CD32 setup the same way in LB and that one works ok. Let me know if you see an issue. Thanks!

Hi, I have LB using Rocklauncher to launch most of my stuff since everything I have works and is already configured in RL. However, for some strange reason, when I try play an Amiga game launched from LB, it tells RL to it up as expected but usually the game stops at an Amiga shell with something like 'cant find runme' or it results in a blank black screen after the amiga starts up. But if I launch the same exact games directly from RL they work just fine. Also works fine from my Hyperspin front end with same RL on the same computer. My command line parameters in LB for RL and Commodore Amiga look just like all my others that are working. Not really sure why it doesn't work when launched from LB?

I just imported my Steam games. That is awesome and easy. I just bought a LB license since I really like LB over Hyperspin. My question is, does LB check for new games ever or do I have to go through the import process every time I buy new games after the initial steam import? And if I delete the games in LB for games that are not installed, i'm guessing they are going to keep coming back if i have to keep reimporting steam games for new purchases? Not sure how this works...

think i found by unchecking everything in options /images/background priorities. thanks for leading me in the right direction!

So will this setting do this for desktop mode like i want and not affect big box? also in desktop mode i'm not really sure which setting(s) to change and where they are?

Ok, actually I did not have to download any art outside of what LB scares for. The only MAME games that imported without art (except only a couple) for me were games that didn't work anyway. So I'm all good now! Thanks for all the help everyone!

Is it possible to make it so no background is displayed behind the game titles for all platforms? I just want a default plain background because the images are too loud and distracting to me. Thanks!

yes, i'm using MAME for the emulator.

In my LB free version 6.7, that option with checkbox does not exist. The last option with checkmark is "Look for PDF files..." And I still get to the special import screen next.

I'm thinking game screenshots may be nicer to use than advertisement flyers. I suppose there is no "good" set of "nice" Mame game screenshots that can be used easily? Can LB grab something like this for my existing Mame games by re-running something and choosing something specific in a wizard? Too bad it doesn't do this by default for Mame. People can always change things later, but it's kind of a bummer for newbies like me to come out of a big Mame import with mostly empty Mame game boxes with text titles.

I see. Launchbox displays the games only with Image type choices: Boxes, 3D Boxes, Carts, 3D Carts, Screenshots, Clear logos. It's a drop list for the display. So I guess this is where I'm confused. Will the flyers show up, if say, image type "Boxes" is selected if i put these flyer image files inside the "Box - Front" LB folder? And which set download should i get from http://www.progettosnaps.net/flyers/, because I see several with names like "Full Set 0.170_8". I don't know if it matters which one? I'm running MAME 0.175 and 176 now in case that matters. I only selected box related options in the LB import wizard so maybe that is also why I didn't get much and I should have selected some other image options too. Sorry for all the questions. I think I'm almost there thanks to you guys.

Thanks. What is a "flyer" image? Will that be sued to represent the game with an image above the Mame game titles shown in LB, because that's the image I'm hoping for so games don't appear blank with default LB icon. Where would I put these files in which specific LB folder? Thank you.

I saw nothing like that, but it looks like it came out ok. Maybe I chose it somewhere without realizing it? In any case, the names are correct now and the games launch again. But it barely got any box art =( That's a bummer. I did not choose to include any emu movie or wiki scrapes. I was afraid that would cause it to get massive amounts of videos again.

ok, i just finished the import wizard and it is busy importing. there is no setting "Use MAME names/metadata" in the import wizard. maybe in an older LB version? I am using the very latest.. but at the last screen in the wizard it showed me the game names it would use, and they looked right so i clicked finish. just waiting now as it imports almost 23k games...

in the wizard it's asking if i want to copy, move, or leave rome in current location. i do not want to copy or move. but it says if i leave them in their current location it will not attempt to organize the files. so that doesn't sound too good? what does it mean?
