  1. Neither the initial import or bulk edit afterwards would pick up these Amiga titles but the manual edit does and most of them only have one option.
  2. Ive had decent success with my WHDLoad collection by not searching for game information from the LB database or Wiki but still choosing everything from LB and emumovies. This way titles like World Boxing don't turn into 3D World Boxing or Destroyer turning into ADP Destroyer. So now I'm going through the titles with no images 1 by 1 and editing to tie a LB DB# to them but checking to make sure LB isn't naming them wrong. Would be nice to have a bulk version of this to compare the old name vs what will be the new name for titles with no images.
  3. There is only 1 option in the dropdown menu for the first game this happened with...... And it is a LB DB number not a wiki one( not searching wiki on bulk edit)
  4. Yeah nah, doesn't work for me, I have to go to the titles with no images and press this button.
  5. Ok so your telling me that manual edit and bulk meta download have different scraping rules???
  6. I can select every game in the platform, tell LB to search the DB for game information, choose nothing from LB or EM and tell LB to overwrite existing metadata and the titles in question will still not obtain a LB DB number. If I edit them manually 1 by 1 they do.
  7. Did you have any plugins installed and set to run?
  8. I have a few titles that don't tie to a LB database number until you separately edit them and hit the "search for metadata" I figured if I was doing a bulk meta download then the first option "Search LB database" would be doing the same but it doesn't. What am I missing?
  9. I made the entire Cache folder read only today after making sure it was complete and noticed as soon as it tries to load a platform logo it crashes due to not being able to write to cached files. I was wondering why it needs to write to them at all? It seems like it could be a resource hog writing to things it doesn't need to. Or I could be a complete noob and not understand the whole thing properly. @Jason Carr if you find the time could you shed some light?
  10. Don't delete your cache folder in LB images but rename it with a 1 at the end temporarily and see if it fixes the issue. If it does fix it then delete it.
  11. Now includes Win3xO 1.0 images. You will have to rename the ID4 game names in Launchbox to the .bat file names due to a scraping issue Launchbox has with the word "DISK" There are also around 5 random .bat files that will import as games but you can find and delete them easily as the pictures will not load for them. A few are called config.... and the rest should be towards the end of the list.
  12. This would work, but then you would be waiting longer than you have to for the "Loading Game" message to disappear for every other game you go to play after the first. After the small amount of work I've done with batch I know its possible to tie the "Loading Game" screen and a process in the tasklist together. The problem is a task name and its .exe can differ. We manually put in the .exe path for every emulator so Launchbox already knows what exe we are using, I'm sure there has to be a way to query the tasklist for currently running exe's. If so then the 'Loading Game" message can be made to lockout controls till the exe for the emulator being used is active and it "should" fix this issue. I kind of thought that's how it already worked though and wanted to make sure before suggesting it. Then again there's probably a better method I'm overlooking as usual. (Don't say get smarter friends Mods ) I thought a bit more about the other emulators I use and Project64 take a long time to load the newest version ( I think its the controller plugin doing something that takes ages?) But Project64 puts its gui infront of the game menu in BB and locks you out. It takes FS-UAE ages to even get its WHDLoad bar out, and I think I still have control when it is. Will double check. Thanks for all the input thus far everyone, I like to build on these ideas as a community before sending out tickets for requests. Its nice to know others would also like certain features before bothering @Jason Carr and crew. If you take a quick look at the issues/requests forms there are a lot of silly issues/requests that clog up the system. It also means if I do make a ticket many more of us will know about it and upvote or downvote accordingly.
  13. I'll record what happens with FS to show you guys what it looks like. Ever setup an emulator wrong, gotten the loading screen when selecting a game then it disappears and the movie starts up again? This is exactly the same except eventually the emulator loads. If the loading screen disappears and gives you controls to BB back it's basically asking you to try again in my eyes.
  14. I'm not having a go here but I think you guys are "conditioned" to wait for games to load.
  15. Ah what an awesome point to bring up. The loading message. It seems it appears then disappears for FS-UAE. I know that when loading FS it simply loads launcher.exe and the task is only FS-UAE. It does not change. If a program was starting additional things in the background like dosbox and it's cmd prompt I understand it's hard but with something that runs by itself tracking the task is simple.
  16. Dude just delete the whole thread. It's just me having a dig and a group of mods telling me to settle it's getting no where. I'll make a ticket and keep quiet from now on.
  17. Dude, i am no programmer but I can make a batch file that stops a program from loading till another one loads then monitors the loaded program and waits for it to close before allowing the initial program to load. That's just batch. And me. Jason would be more than capable of implementing this and polishing BB some.
  18. Cheers Rincewind. I more wanted/ needed to know if there was already a lockout code in place that was having issues with some programs and Bigbox. I will be making a ticket but I always like to check I haven't overlooked an available option so I come here and post my issues. Didn't get much of a response till I was "snarky" It only occurs for me with 1 emulator, and that emulator loads faster on the second load for some reason but still allows multiple selection, @zombeaver has the same issue with windows games also. @lordmonkusI should of probably sent that as a pm and apologies if I insulted anyone with my "kettle" comment.
  19. It was a light hearted joke dude hence the Pac man reference. Don't go banning me for bagging out the issue/request system one day then make a personal attack on my friends a week later because I have an issue with a design flaw. The pot calling the kettle black much?
  20. Wow... top answer dude. 2nd mod that's disregarded a major flaw. Ok every time I have new people over I'll pull out the whiteboard and show them how to properly use Big Box to avoid multiple loads ect. Solid solution rather than code it to actually function correctly.
  21. So after asking around I've found this is a common problem for many emulators/ games. This makes BigBox a no-go for bartop setup because you need a spotter telling randoms to only select a game once. Why even bother having features like security lockout when I can break the pc by selecting a FS-UAE title 20 times before the first one starts? Shouldn't there be some simple lockout code that stops BB from accepting input after selecting PLAY? Or even some dodgy timer we can set per platform or/and game that locks out input to BigBox after selecting play for X amount of seconds. That search feature keyboard in BigBox not being able to jump from one side of the box to the other is a bit of a laugh too, what year is it again?? Go play some Pac-Man and recode that one Devs
  22. Could potentially be done as additional apps with an edit to the consolidation code. Or setup manually at the moment.
  23. I'm having troubles with FS-UAE Amiga emulator and Bigbox. When I load a game through BigBox FS-UAE takes a few seconds before displaying it's WHDLoad status then loading the game, and in these few seconds I am able to choose the game multiple times which causes all types of drama. I should note that I am using an additional app that's set to run before FS-UAE but that is all. It doesn't seem to be the culprit. This was also only tested loading an FS-UAE config, not a UUID. I'm unsure if one loads faster than the other.
  24. Yeah you can only force BB to cache. And you are correct about LB needing to scroll up and down continuously to completely load everything. Also refresh images in BB should actually be called Delete Cache because that's exactly what it does. Takes the cache folder down to 0 with total disregard for LB cache data.
