  1. I just happened to be browsing the games collection of another user (@elitemanhood, as it happens) and can see the list of platforms in the menu bar on the left. The number of items per platform is not shown however.

It would be great if the number of items per platform was shown, so we can see how many games the user has per platform. Can this be implemented? Thanks!

  2. Oh dear! So it's not very easy as harryoke and I were hoping!

Would it be possible exo to have LB on the external drive too? And then have the games inside that LB folder?

Was really hoping to have LB local (along with all the media), with the games on the NAS (like to for the rest of my 10TB collection).

    My process was this:

    6. Copy ExoDos folder over to existing LB install folder.

Erm....do we have to copy the entire 220GB exodos folder to the LB install folder on our local machine? There’s no way I have that much free space. All my games and ROMs are stored on a NAS. Surely this step isn’t necessary? Exo?

  4. So just to check - if we point the torrent at our existing exodos folder as per the instructions, then when we import into LB doesn’t it import the whole lot, including the old V2?

  5. I'm looking to set up multiple systems within Launchbox, include MAME, computers and consoles.

The thing that is confusing me a little at the moment is the ROM management side of things. Do you need a separate ROM manager (e.g. such as RomCenter) when you have Launchbox? Does Launchbox "audit" the ROMs in any way (and by that I mean check that they are intact etc).

  6. While we're waiting, it would be an opportune time to mention MEAGRE again - the original frontend for the eXoDOS collection. I'm glad that the collection is moving to a more modern, flexible and active platform, though MEAGRE was quite well suited for this particular use. It is able to show a number of images simultaneously when selecting a game, such as front box art, rear box art, title screen, game screenshot, CD/disk art etc, as well as game information at the bottom of the screen. This is a great way to delve into the game and be immersed in all the available media for maximum retro effect.

I don't know if Launchbox can replicate this kind of view - I suppose it would have to be in BigBox and them with a custom theme. I had asked a question elsewhere on these forums regarding viewing all this good art/media in the game details pane within Launchbox (not BigBox). I have not yet had any replies to that question; I wonder if someone here could humour me and post a reply.

  7. Wow, in the language of all fine chocolate connoisseurs the world over, monsieur you are spoiling us! Feel free to press that FL button on the existing torrent too, help get those seeds going.... :D

  8. Great news! Hope your back gets better soon exo.

Can't download the torrent - something do with my ratio. I had thought PD didn't fuss about ratio for some reason :(

Edit: I have the following message on the PD page:

"The tracker is unable to contact your client on the IP address and port you are reporting, which means other clients cannot initiate a connection to you either".

Funny thing is, I am currently downloading from PD, and others are uploading from me also (torrent client is running on NAS which is conneted to router which is connected to modem) - though my SR (ratio) on PD shows "---".

    Any help appreciated!

  9. As far as I can tell (please correct me if I am wrong), when browsing game media via the "game details" pane, the only artwork that shows are the screenshots and community art. How can I get the other artwork to show, e.g. box art, etc. I know that I can right-click and then "view images", but this seems a bit of a funny way to do it when there is already a game details pane. Besides, I would like to be able to view all the available artwork in this pane. A lot of emulator frontends (e.g. the MAME ones) have various tabs for cabinet image, screenshots, controller, poster, marquee, flyer. etc. Something like this would be great!

  10. Launchbox loads fine on my laptop. As the screen is small however, I have a second external monitor (24") connected via USB-C running at 1920x1200. The laptop screen runs at 2880x1800.

For most windows and apps, when I drag them to the external monitor they are initially too big/too low resolution, though as soon as the window is more than half way onto the external monitor it resizes to the correct size/resolution.

For some reason, Launchbox doesn't follow this behaviour. It stays at the same size/resolution, and is far too big/low resolution on the external monitor.

    Any help appreciated!

  11. Thanks eXo, that sounds fairly clear - so the new torrent will only download the missing stuff if I point it to my existing exodos/win3xo folder as you describe. Would it be a similar procedure when downloading the other packs? This is going to be the biggest thing to hit Launchbox this decade :D

  12. If I don't delete 2.0, how do I update it to 3.0 with the Launchbox package included? I don't really have anything in Launchbox at the moment, as I had been waiting for these packs :) So no need to merge with existing LB install.

  13. Great news eXo. Worth doing it right with a project such as this. Wonder if you can get anyone to help. I would have back in the day when I had more time. They should have a stamp “certified by exo” on the games DB so that we know which items have the correct data :)
