When browsing games in Launchbox, whenever the mouse moves over a game a big grey box appears behind it. This looks ugly and detracts from the experience. How can I stop this from happening?
Thanks!

Yeah me too, if this is the recommended course of action.

Thanks for the tip eXo, and great to hear that you are still working on it. I will continue to wait for the time being with the import.

The next versions of eXoDOS and Win3xO will both release with launchbox packed in and ready to go. For those who already have my sets, there has been work on an importer, however it is slow going currently as those involved are all also working on other things.
How are things progressing here? I'm looking to import exoDOS/Win3xO into LB, but have got things on pause until there is a clear way forward.

Keen for some advice here. I am keen to set up LB/BB to show as much of the available media/assets per game as possible. For example, when I am browsing through games, I would like it (depending on the system of course) to show the box art, game video, marquee, title screen, controller, cabinet, cartridge, manual etc. Alternatively, I would be almost as happy as having another easy option to access this media from the game menu, as long as it was straightforward.
How can I set top LB/BB to show all this media - is it possible? Thanks!

I too would like to know the answer to this question - what is the best app which can scan a directory and audit all the ROMS?

After 46 pages worth of comments hopefully that question is answered!

For MAME, I think browsing by the original arcade cab image would be the coolest. Something like the below. Is this possible?

I'd be keen to know the answer to this too.

Oh great! Any hint of a timeframe?

Oh man, that’s really sad to hear. eXoDOS v3 is one of my most anticipated projects at the moment. Hopefully @Jason Carr will find the time to add what you need very soon.
Yeah, likewise. Keen to hear any input from @Jason Carr as well, in terms of where things are with this.

Word play aside, definite +1 for maximum editability or customisability of the LB user interface!

I thought this issue of renaming media had been fixed, according to what Jason mentioned in another thread?

Exo, is your tool any use for exporting to something that Hyperspin can use? If not then would yoo consider adding that functionality? Or is HS a different kettle.l of fish?
cheers

Looking forward to the progress here. On a side note - are there any thoughts on doing something similar for the GOG pack? It's bigger than the exodos pack at around 0.51TB, though the games are less in number.

Hi eXo, quick question regarding the exoDOS and Win3xO packages. I put them both in the same directory with all games in a joint games subdirectory. I ran the Win3xO batch file and it seems to be decompressing all the artwork. Do I still need to run the exoDOS batch file afterwards? Thanks.
Edit: tried it with just the Win3xO batch file. Started Meagre - get the error message: "no data found - please check folders". I have not moved any folders around - simply left things in the root folder as suggested. Any help appreciated.
Edit2: seems it doesn't like having the & symbol in the directory name. Removed that, changed it in the meagre.ini file and now it's loading the folders.

I'm currently about 15% into my download of exodos 2.0....should I cancel this and await 3.0?

Just wondering how the work is progressing here

Love the overlay effect for these old games. Would change the background to something more nostalgic though, like a dusty shelf or something

Any updates on the integration agenda here? Been 5 months since the last post. Great work eXo BTW.

Any updates here? Bootcamp is fine but it would be nice to see a native Mac solution.

Hope his helps!
I haven't tried it without the USB adapter as my machine is USB-C only. I will try it on another machine in the house, hopefully later today, and let you know.

Or shall I send you mine

In fact it is possible to have a hierarchical system for the platforms, e.g.
Consoles / First Generation / Individual Systems
Consoles / Second Generation / Individual Systems
Kind of like Quickplay does (which has an inferior interface but good features):
Remove/change big grey box that appears when mouse hovers over game

Spycat - I found that option and selected it, but the grey box round the game on hover remains the same. Is there somewhere I can change the colour of this now?
ckp - glad it bothers you too! Maybe the devs will take note of this and fix it for us. The same box is shown round the selected game - I think the selected game does need some kind of box, but it could be made much less intrusive. Take a look at Openemu on the Mac for an example of a clean interface in this regard.
