EDIT: The problem seems to be related to launchbox being set as the default home app. After a period of time, the scoped storage process seems to fail and it does not pass the scoped storage over. Switching to another launcher seems to solve this. I'm at a loss but sharing what I'm experiencing. Running into an issue where no matter what I do, I cannot get games to open in NetherSX2 (PS2 emulator based on AetherSX2) when selected in Launchbox. I have followed steps on here about making sure there's a games folder scanned in NetherSX2 and confirmed games when run in the app work perfectly fine. The games are stored on an SD card and when I look at the file paths, I see they are captured differently in NetherSX2 versus Launchbox (Nether uses things like percent signs to capture spaces, etc). Could this be the source of the issue? I've shared screenshots to help illustrate. Troubleshooting steps I've taken: - tried setting scoped storage (I get an error in Launchbox saying this platform does not allow for scoped storage) - confirm if games open directly in NetherSX2 (they do open fine) - deleted and readded the games folder in netherSX2 - tried completely removing the games folder in NetherSX2 and not reading the folder - deleted and reinstalled NetherSX2 - deleted and reinstalled the platform in Launchbox - rebooted device

Ah thanks. When I unlocked each device (Anbernic 406V, Xu Retro XU20 V32, MagicX Zero Mini 28), it wasn't doing this behavior. I had to force reboot each device to get the check to happen. Could be limited to just those devices but may still be worth investigating to ensure the behavior is working on other android devices.

LB normally checks for updates when it boots up, however when LB is the launcher and if your device never turns off, then you aren't checking for updates. I happened to find out by luck that there was a new official build. Suggest adding the ability to manually check for updates in the settings for those of us using as a launcher so we can trigger a check for an update.

You're a rockstar! Can confirm that favorites are now respected and showing at the top again. I have launchbox installed on an Anbernic 406V, MagicX Mini Zero 28, and Xu Retro XU20 V32. Will report back on how the launcher setting works on those devices as it'll be perfect for these Android based retro emulation devices. EDIT: Initial improvements to LB as a launcher (which works great btw) Since LB is now a launcher, we need a way to access system settings. Suggest allowing settings to be selectable as an Android app so it will appear in the android "console". Or you could put system settings in the hamburger menu (which would be cleaner and probably make more sense there) Android apps seem to all default to being treated as games, even if they're not. For example, I included sync thing as an android app so I have a way to access it within LB and LB started trying to track play time. Suggest adding a way to mark apps as "non-game" so they can just be run and LB doesn't try to track play time or whatever else Two requests for future beta releases: Consider adding the ability to mute background videos as a toggle in the options menu. I still occasionally run into the issue where the background video continues playing when I boot up a game so I have two audio sources playing at the same time. Only way to fix is to exit game, go back to Launchbox, and try again. Consider adding the ability to filter based on game completion. I would love to filter easily for games that I haven't beaten yet so I could work on the never ending backlog. Thanks again for all the hard work. Really excited to see feature parity continue migrating over from desktop to Android, those of us with licenses for both really recognize and appreciate this!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Like the title says - I have LB Android installed on a few personal devices, and would like to not have to manually create each playlist for each device. Is there a way to port over existing playlists to other Android devices running LB? Thanks in advance

Got another weird one - not sure if it's related to the Beta - but the app no longer seems to want to remember my EmuMovies credentials. When I exit and re-enter it loses them and seems it wants me to login at a platform level Edit - seems to have gone away, may have been a user error thing, leaving here in case others run into it but if isolated I would ignore for now.

You're right that changing the "sort" to favorites now has favorites up top where I'd expect them to be, but I always understood that the toggle in options of "show favorite games first" was supposed to do this without having to change each individual platform's sort to favorites. I think that toggle in the options menu is still broken. Thanks for sharing this, at least I can implement as a workaround for now until the toggle gets fixed.

That's fair - so potentially kick the can here, and then if everyone agrees "hey that would probably be a good one" then load to feedback site so you guys have a record and can potentially include in your roadmap. Good to know - as some items I'm requesting may benefit from community discussion (and to ensure no duplication)

Hi - I was noticing that there were some feature requests here on the forums. Are they preferred here, or on the feedback tool on https://feedback.launchbox.gg/? Just want to make sure the things I'm submitting are being loaded to the right tool for Android purposes. For context, I have been primarily using the feedback tool but happy to switch to here if preferred and easier to action against. Thanks in advance!

Hi there - just updated and it appears that "favorite games appear first" is no longer being respected. Happy to provide any additional input upon request. Edit: In addition it looks like sorting is also not respected. If I try to sort by rating, it continues to stay sorted by title, etc. Probably related to the issue above. Also - I have category filters setup, with root filter of platform and second filter of genre. The second filter of "genre" does not come up when I click into the "favorites" playlist, it just goes directly into the games list. When I click "all games" playlist, the genre filter does come up. Separately, will this now allow for the ability to filter based on completion status? I'm primarily looking to filter out games marked "done" or "beaten" so I can focus on unplayed/in-progress games in my catalog. Thanks in advance, really excited for game progress to migrate across LB Desktop and LB Android (assuming this is part of the build or expected in a future update)!

Any considerations to expanding Launchbox to systems like Atgames Legends Ultimate? Currently the options there are stock or R-Cade / Legends Unchained. Thanks for all the great work!

A Quintet/Enix collection with Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma would be incredible. North America never getting the chance to experience Terranigma proper is a shame, given how great the gameplay and the story is. The challenge here is Quintet has disappeared into the wind, and it's unknown how much Square Enix owns of the library. Holding out hope that this trilogy will one day be re-released!

The easy workaround is running it through Steam. I added launchbox to Steam, run steam on the shield, and launchbox defaults to the resolution steam is displaying. Winner winner chicken dinner

Thanks for the followup!

Anyone having issues with resolution? I use an ultrawide monitor (3440x1440) and when streaming to my Nvidia Shield TV, Big Box is defaulting to the resolution of my monitor which results in unnecessary letterboxing. I'm also having issues setting up two-player (both controllers are currently triggering player one) -- but that's another conversation entirely.

Like the title says -- how can I adjust the resolution? Just purchased a lifetime pass and when streaming to my Nvidia Shield TV, the resolution is defaulting to my monitor resolution (3440x1440), which adds unnecessary letterboxing at the top and bottom. Hoping an adjustment at the client level will alleviate this issue Thanks!

So I'm about to take the plunge on a lifetime license of Launchbox premium for the Big Box feature, however, I have two questions before i proceed: Does anyone have any experience streaming Big Box to Nvidia Shield TV? I use RetroArch, PCSX2, and Dolphin. Will I need to set the resolutions in these emulators up separately (outside of what I setup for playing on my PC), or will Nvidia's streaming technology "automagically" handle it? In regards to the Shield Controller --- do I need to configure it within each Emulator, or will Big Box / RetroArch / Dolphin / PCSX2 recognize as an XInput controller and work "automagically"? For context, I have gone in and setup controller schemes for my xbox one controller when I play on my PC. Not a dealbreaker by any means, I just want to know what kind of pre-configuration I'm getting myself into -- if any. Thanks!
