Update Game covers

Still trying to update the game covers is the system still down because its not doing anything for me.

if i already have games in launchbox how to i go about updatting them

In Bulk 1 Go into the platform you want to edit and hit control+a this will select all of your games 2 Go to tools on the menu and click it 3 Choose Download Metadata and Images 4 Run the wizard (If you already have some images then click the option to download but don't replace any existing data. Individually Choose a game and right click on it click edit (or hit Ctrl+E or use your cursor navigate to edit and press the enter key all three methods will work) If the game is linked to the database just click the download Images/Media button in the bottom right of the edit form. It should then offer you checkboxes for any media available from the local DB or from EmuMovies if you have an account. if the game isn't linked to the database hit the Search for Metadata butotn in the top right. if it finds anything then repeat the above steps

does not download just got errors does all my games have to be in the launchbox directory

No I don't use the LaunchBox game directory at all on most of my installs. Have you tried downloading LaunchBox again don't erase your LaunchBox.xml but download the program again and replace everything except the XML.

im getting game info but no covers just get errors any way i try to update the covers i downloadd retroarch cant update that either its funny im using windows 10 and when i try to install either program i get the smartscreen popping up says its unavaliable then is says run or dont run i run the programs then neither will update

Are you doing that from inside of LaunchBox? I know if the smartscreen pops up from there you can't run the program unless you go outside of LaunchBox and agree to run it from there first. Where do you have LaunchBox installed?

i made a new directory and put it there covers are not downloading i have seven errors for one game front art back art ect

can you take a screen shot of your error message and post it also when the errors come up does it offer you the option to keep the information anyway? And how about the answers to the last few questions I asked you.

Thanks for the screenshot @ptoleary. I'm guessing something on your machine is blocking the download for some reason. If you scroll over to the right in the errors list, what to do the end of the errors say?

I didn't even think about that! This is why I asked Jason to come and read this thread. Could be Anti Virus, Firewall or a permissions problem.

Yeah, we should be able to confirm one way or another if we see the end of the error messages if you scroll right in the dialog.
