guldenschuh311
Hey guys, I bought the premium a while back, and just been too lazy to set it back up when i reinstalled my OS, but I had a question for you guys. I own an nVidia Shield TV and I love to use it to gamestream my PC games. I absolutely hate the steam big picture, and I hate nVidia's Gamestream game management. Anyway, what I have been attempting is making a seperate platform for my games and batch moving them to a platform named "Gamestream" so I can just launch BigBox and then the games I want to launch. This keeps me from having to add each individual game to nVidia. I was wondering if there is a way to import PC games from a folder? I use a Symbolic Link to have a folder containing games just for streaming to make my life a little easier. This makes it so I can add and remove games on the fly without having to uninstall anything. As of right now I have to import Steam/Windows games, then add any other games that may be in a "Portable" format. Thanks for any help :) and this software is amazing! DOS76
There is a post on the forum where one of the users talks about using BigBox or LB I forget which no on the Nvidia Shield tablet so I would say that if it works on the tablet it would work on the TV. AutiumSounds was the OP I believe if that helps you search.

Here you go: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/features/bigbox-on-nvidia-sheild-how-to-w-i-p ** getting emulators to run can be a pain, I reconmend borderless windowed moe where possible. Hope that helps.
guldenschuh311
Oh it wasn't an issue getting it working. I was wondering if there was a better way of organizing games JUST to be played from gamestream? Basically this is what I have been doing: I was just wondering if there is a way to just import games individually into LaunchBox so I can tie them to the "GameStream" platform. I have BigBox running perfect from my Shield TV, just looking for a better way to import games and such.
fromlostdays
Wait, gamestream will work for emulators on the pc? Or am I misunderstanding?
guldenschuh311
Gamestream can play anything. If you get a black screen when trying to play a game, typically its because it running in OpenGL i think? Basically if you change the video settings, or use Windowed Mode I think the video works. I used to play all my emulators off it, then I got a Shield TV and I can just play games on the emulators on it. It runs pretty much everything. I've played Dolphin Dreamcast off of Gamestream. If your game isnt picking up the controller, you can use Xpadder and make a profile that detects the controller and assign it's buttons to keyboard strokes. That should fix that issue. As far as what I'm doing, is I'm making my own platform so I can basically "Link" the games I want to stream to it. Just to make it easier to organize and find my games from my Shield TV. So my steps are: Create the gamestream platform. Change the platform for all the PC games from Windows to nVidia Gamestream so it shows a smaller library of games that I ONLY want to stream via Gamestream to my Shield TV. Run Bigbox mode from Shield TV and I can easily navigate to that section to play games. I can now update it to include the games I want easier. The only problem I'm running into, is just adding one video game. It seems that LaunchBox can only import via Steam, GOG, etc, or Windows installs. So if I have portable games, they will not be able to be imported. Unless I don't know how to do it or haven't figured it out yet, it would be nice to have a "Add game by .exe" function and then have you input a string for it to search the GameDB to match the information to. I hope this makes sense.
fromlostdays
I have to admit this is a little over my head, but have you tried just importing the exe as a rom. You can put it under any system you want. (If it doesn't scrape right you can just add the art later), but I think there's an option for "scrape as". So once you've imported your game to where you want it, you just click the game in LB, click edit, go to the emulation tab and uncheck "Use an emulator to play this game" which tells launchbox its an exe. (I'm confused about the game streaming part, but this is how I import games that don't auto import for windows etc.)
