8Phantasm Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) @lordmonkusHey, when I put in Launchbox to load the config (via custom command-line parameters for the game), it loads RetroArch in a window with no shader? Not sure how to fix that. Edited August 23, 2016 by 8Phantasm Quote
Lordmonkus Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 You need to generate a config file with the shader settings you want. The best way I can think of to do this is to have Retroarch set up with per-core settings on, load up retroarch with the mame core and a game and exit out. It should have generated config file in the retroarch/config folder, probably named "mame_libretro.dll.cfg". Rename this file to something like "mame_vertical.cfg". Now in Launchbox add the command switch -c "config/mame_vertical.cfg". This may or may not be the exact way to do it, I am just telling you off the top of my head. I don't actually use any custom configs myself but I do know they can be done. Another possible option is in Retroarch > Configuration turn on the per-game core option. This should allow you to set a different shader on a game to game basis. Also this method is not available to all cores. Keep in mind that I have not actually done anything like this because it is such an insane amount of work to do it for each and every game. That is why I suggested MameUI with setting lottes crt shaders using the vertical and horizontal filters for bulk setting or HLSL. Brad has done videos showing how to load custom configs. Quote

Came across this thread while searching for vertical mame game stuff. Coincidentally, I'm going through all of my vertical mame games in retroarch and manually rotating them to the correct orientation for 16:9 and then saving a per-game override Matsu's Bezels and Duimon's Bezel Project MegaBezel integration . I'm almost done! Then I can share all the configs and folders and stuff for a retroarch installation. Quote
