For anyone wondering, I figured out a pretty neat technique for these hard-to-cut metallic logos. I'd like to explain how:

1) After changing the background to a solid color with whatever method you prefer -- in this case, I made it solid black do the following:

2) In GIMP, create a duplicate of the image. Make the duplicate invisible for now.

3) Create a layer of solid white or black beneathe it. Keep it visible.

4) Use the Color to Alpha Tool on the visible layer. Do your best with Opacity and Transparency. Don't worry too much about parts of the image becoming too transparent, we can fix this later. Just make sure the outline is visible.

5) Duplicate this layer and merge them.

6) Make the layer you just merged invisible and make visible the copy you made earlier.

7) Use either the Fuzzy Select or Select by Color tool to select the background color. Go to Select > Invert. Go to Select > Shrink. Shrink by 1 - 3 pixels -- you want to get inside the logo just barely outside of it's outline.

😎 Now we combine them! Make both layers visible. Put the layer you just edited on top.

9) Use the eraser tool at the pixel level and set force to 50% -- clean up any bright grey/white pixels.

You should get results like the one I just posted.

High resolution logo for this already exists. What are you requesting?
Also, just realized there's many logos from back in 558 and 559 that havent been addressed. If no one else picks them up, I'll try tomorrow, it's getting late.
