I don't see an expert in myself (but thnx for the compliment🫣), amongst the real experts here, as I mentioned before are for instance Jonny Severn and Seaview.

Your work is good and much appreciated Zugswang. In the logo u did, some points to take with you...u also removed parts of what is actually the inside of the mechanical fly's harness.
So everything in the areas between the letters should have stayed as part of the clear logo.

The little bit (which also looks like a fly seen from the top) on the bottom was part of the outer border, and not from the fly itself...so that part could have been removed.
The outside of the logo has a black outline, and that should have -imho- also run through on the bottom of the GAPLUS logo.
U can see it run through even to the spiky tentacles (I checked https://www.arcadeartwork.org/picture.php?/11121)

So for consistency...a black outline all around the cut out would have been the way to go.

At least, that is my opinion...that's i suppose the creators/artists perogative. 

And with that...Goofers is a bit of a perfectionist and I shouldn't spoil him so much 😁🤣
