kerszr
Alright long story short I need money. But let me elaborate. I need a car. I need a job. But first i need money to pay for a car to get me to a job. So I need to sell some games. I have hundred of games but nothing is selling 'buy it now'. I have a quiet anxiety about the 'auction' thing Im testing it out with some game boy games but i keep getting the feeling that i will just get something half off what i should get for it. Things are getting real bad and i have been to forum to forum looking for advice. Not only are things getting financially but i live with my sister and her boyfriend and lets just say they are loud. Like really loud. Like super loud. And nothing would be more desirable to me than to also have money to get my own place... away from the humping. I keep lowering the price on my items too in hopes to spur interest. But I only get watchers and sleeze-bags asking for 200 dollars on a 700 dollar lot. One time I got this guy who said he would buy everything but just didn't pay me so i had to wait for ebay to settle the dispuit and that was a pain. and meanwhile... humping... humping... humping, Anyway today I have two lots going down on a buy it now price. One is for super nintendo and one is for nintendo 64. If you guys are interested. alexis524
@kerszr, you have some nice gems in your SNES lot for sure and i also see you did your homework. I compared your price to vgpc.com and sure enough, it's was pretty darn close. Have you also posted over on Racketboy's forums? Hope you get a buyer soon. Best of luck to you my friend. dmjohn0x
Only collectors who are hard up for a game/nearing complete pay those prices. They will sell, but will take a LONG time. You dont have overhead, employees, or anything. So I'd discount anywhere from 20-25% if you really want to sell. Most people arent willing to pay vgpc prices. Good luck to you. It's no secret that we all want what we want and for as cheap as possible, but, vgpc is what people are paying today. My advice to the TC if he's still checking this is to sell your games individually on by one on ebay. I sold off 500+ retro titles by selling them individually and not as a lot. It may take you a bit longer than you want, but the end result is the same. Most gamers/collectors probably have most titles in your lot and are only looking for a few out of your auction and by setting a high (although fair) BIN price, you're already limiting yourself to a select few on ebay that 1. have that kind of disposable cash to spend and 2. are looking for every.single.game.in your lot. Just my $0.02. Again, best of luck to you.
Zombeaver
As a pretty hardcore collector myself, I feel obligated to say "Don't do it man!" That being said, while it's true that VGPC can be a decent guide (I use it in both my purchase chart sheet and my full collection sheet and as a starting point when I'm looking for something in particular), you need to keep in mind that those prices are for individual games, not a lot. No one is going to pay individual prices for an entire lot because the entire point of buying a lot is to get games at a bulk rate. Personally, I don't pay VGPC even for single games, let alone a big lot. That purchase sheet is all from within the last year and the vast majority of it was bought game by game and I'm about 45% below VGPC overall. Your options are basically to either drop your lot price by a good bit or sell them off one by one. Or you could keep them, sell some plasma, and maybe find a job that you could carpool to.
