Layby2K
Hi everyone, Has anyone had any luck getting Pinball FX2 working in launchbox/Bigbox as a platform with table wheels? I used to have it set up in Hyperspin as a platform wheel and each table listed individually rather than having it setup as a single steam game. So I basically want it set up the same as the future pinball platform. I previously used rocketlauncher to launch it via Hyperspin. Cheers. ckp
I had mine in RL and HS with its own wheel too until moving to LB. But I decided it made more sense for me to just add it to my PC games platform "Windows", so that's where I added it. No issues.
ckp
You could always create new platform and add the game there if you want it in its own platform on the wheel.
ckp
Ahhh, I just noticed you want to break up by pinball table. Ok, mine are all in one where you pick the table after launching. Edited September 10, 2016 by ckp
Lordmonkus
Take a look at this thread and see if it is any help to you. http://steamcommunity.com/app/226980/discussions/0/618463738383463019/?ctp=2 I don't have this to test it out. Thanks that might help, I'll give it a go. Only other way is to somehow create a games database for launchbox to recognise each table as a separate game the same way as future pinball. Thanks everyone for your prompt assistance.
Lordmonkus
I have it from a reliable 3rd party source that setting up an emulator pointing to the Pinball FX2.exe and then importing the .pxp table files it will work within Launchbox. Now just have to tinker with the commandline parameters and artwork and we're cooking with gas. What a great community, thanks again guys. ckp
This got all the tables, but when launching, it doesn't just run the table. It puts you in the table selection screen. Does anyone know if there is some command line parameter or way to just go to playing with the table you launch from LB? I scraped as Windows but that didn't work out to well. Is there a good scrape to get some art for these? Edited September 11, 2016 by ckp
Lordmonkus
This will only work with an up to date version of Pinball FX2. Not sure what version exactly added this functionality but I know the older ones do not have it. I don't think there is an easy scrape solution for this since a lot of the tables are DLC packs and not individual games. You are left on your own for artwork for now unless there is something over on the Hyperspin site in the wheel art packs.
ckp
I guess I'll just leave this as a single game inside my Windows games platform. No big deal.
Eirulan
It is possible to do this in Launchbox, I made this the last two days (and made a video of it here: But... it has to be done almost completely by hand. The one advise I have is: do NOT scrape any data at all (just import and uncheck all scrape-sources), because you'll end up deleting this wrong information that's being scraped anyway. Some tables will get recognized as the wrong games, e.g. the "Rome" table gets scraped as "Rome: Total War". Set the table names manually during the import according to this list: filename tablename Atlantis Secrets of the Deep BioLab Biolab CastleStorm CastleStorm Citadel Sorcerer's Lair EarthDefense Earth Defense Eldorado El Dorado Excalibur Excalibur Football Football Super League - Zen Studios F.C.
