stephy
How Do I hide Clones of games in Mame? =) Edited October 19, 2016 by stephy
Lordmonkus
There's no easy option to hide once they are imported but during the import phase you can tell Launchbox not to import clones. Otherwise you will just have to go through your Mame list and remove the clones you don't want manually.
stephy
Quote TY for quick response . Really nice of you. I was just wondering one more thing.. If I already imported my game collection , is it possible to update it and add more images , boxart, flyers , etc from Emumovies? =) Edited October 19, 2016 by stephy
Lordmonkus
You could either rescrape the games or if you have downloaded the media you can just just drop it in the appropriate folders and refresh the images in Launchbox and they will appear. stephy
how to rescrape? I also got a Emumovies account so I like the idea of dropping =) Maybe just download from FTP , and drop into appropriate folders seems right .
Lordmonkus
Right click a game and click edit, then in the the edit screen click the download images and media button on the bottom right and it will pull from the database.
stephy
It be otherwise awesome if you could just import games , and Launchbox just added the content you selected and ignored adding a copy of the games u already have on list.. but i guess you guys already working on such a thing ? =)

Lordmonkus
You can just reimport all your games and it will skip the games already in your library.

syntax_X
Ima hijack here. Nice and quiet deep in another noobs thread. I did that thing where you delete all your platforms xml because the rom collections you imported were named incorrectly, then you dust off the cobwebs off clrmamepro and rename your sets then you get confused by the lack of "remove missing roms" option (not on the beta yet) and the import roms option was slightly confusing to you in the way it wouldn't import duplicates (so it's a perfect way to scan a folder for new roms just not for removing unwanted now nonexistent zip files) Short story everything worked but mastersystem for some reason (deleted its xml but nothing changed in the folder) kept importing 0 games successfully. So I forced duplicate imports. Worked a treat but do I have some frankenstein xml for MS now? I'll be putting in a ticket for a "refresh rom folders" button soon I think. I know we can currently perform both tasks but the naming and such gets a bit confusing. Ppl know what refresh rom folder means off the bat. Still loving this frontend, where do I send the Christmas beers?
Lordmonkus
Does the Scan for added and Scan for removed roms feature not work ?
syntax_X
Those are beta options right? If not then I'm sure they work and my brain doest after 20,000 games imported... I'm kinda fried. Cheers dude when I get home I'll look a bit closer at that menu.
Lordmonkus
They were beta but version 7 final released today with it in there.
syntax_X
Only other question I have for now is what's the difference when importing an emulator why do some look for the binaries and others search for the exe. I'm new to Retroarch and assumed this was cores but then an exe imported fine when binaries was selected. I think vba-m needed all files selected to choose it. Lordmonkus
All emulators are an .exe of some sort but in the case of Retroarch you also have the "core" as well which the .exe runs. The cores are the actual emulators that the main retroarch.exe runs determining which system you are emulating.
syntax_X
Misunderstood me , and I wasn't clear enough. Why when adding an emulator its looking for binaries not my exe. Yet some show the exe in list some don't. All emus updated ect.
Lordmonkus
I'm really not sure what you mean. What emulator are you talking about specifically ?
