cleverest
UGH, can't figure this out....I'm using mame64.exe (0.180), and every time I launch a game I get the browser and have to hunt for the game...what a mess....I've tried several things I've seen online, nothing has worked.... Right now I have this in my emulators path set up for RL as follows (working for everything else so far): -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p "LaunchBox" -s "%platform%" -r This is my config as follows, not even sure the RL config parameter I have set is in the right place and doing anything yet... Thanks for any help!! - Brett
ckp
is your platform name in LB the same as RL? Or maybe it's Arcade in LB but MAME in RL?
cleverest
Nice guess but no, they are both Arcade...
SentaiBrad
If you don't mind me asking, why not just use LaunchBox?
cleverest
I like some of the ways you can customize RL to do extra things, and how it manages the ROM sets I have (audit), and how you can set up many functions/keys (save states for ex) to be more uniform across different emulators, etc... Also, I''m preparing this collection for a couple friends for Christmas and once it's all working I think it will make things easier to just play without having to tweak every single emulator; but maybe i'm making it harder than it has to be.... cleverest
Am I using the wrong executable? I've tried the standard Mame64.exe and also a Mame64.exe submitted to the Hyperspin site, that hard encodes removing the NAG screen and enabled DirectInput and gives the same issue...I suspect I can do something with a INI file but not sure WHAT to do... ckp
Is Rocketlauncher launching your MAME games properly without Launchbox? If not, your first step is getting that to work.
JaysArcade
Do you have 7z enabled for MAME by any chance? MAME roms should all be in zip folders so 7z support won't be necessary for it. I've seen this cause these kind of issues before.
cleverest
Good tips guys.CKP, Rocketlauncher by itself does the same thing, so it's good to know it's not Launchbox causing this....JayThompson, 7z WAS enabled, I disabled it, and now it doesn't bring up the browser, and only the ARCADE FADE-IN Screen appears, with the YEAR showing on bottom left...showing stats, total time played on the top right, etc...and other stuff there....but it remains BLACK... Conclusion: However I somehow got it to work because of these steps and fiddling around with possibly some settings in the MAME.INI! Thanks guys! I wish I could retrace how it got fixed, but it seems fine now... IF ONLY MY CONTROLLERS would work now....hitting TAB and trying to set up INPUTS doesn't detect either my snes pad (buffalo) or my wired XBOX 360 controller...Hmmmmm
JaysArcade
Glad you got it working somewhat. If it was me, I would turn off Fade, Pause, Bezels and anything else that is "extra" in Rocketlauncher until you get the games launching properly and you are satisfied with how that part is working. When you are confident the game launching is working good, then try messing with those features individually, one at a time.

Great advice, I guess I should set it up GLOBALLY to disable those things, and do them system by system; that's a huge help, thanks again!
