shadowblind
Hi all, Not sure if this was answered, search didn't turn up what I'm looking for. Is there a way to make BigBox display genres in the same way it displays platforms? I want to sort all games by genres but still have a spiffy presentation with clear logos for each genre and videos as well. At the moment, sorting by genres jsut displays them as white text without videos or images. Thanks!
SentaiBrad
Yes. When Big Box opens, go back ion to the Menu and go down to "View Genres".

When I do that I only get the plain white text list of genres on the left side with no screenshots or videos or clear logos. I've also tried this with the default theme without any luck, same type of view I'm trying to get the really stylish "platforms view" with videos and clear logos but for genres? In addition, I can't seem to find an option for a specific video to play per genre . . .
Rincewind
This has got me thinking, maybe "Genre" could be added to the search feature to make it easier to navigate BigBox from a cabinet..... not sure how this would work but a few button presses and a genre for the current platform could be displayed.... maybe press RIGHT and the search feature comes up then scroll to GENRE then a list of genres would display so you click the one you want and then the search box disappears leaving only the selected games for that genre on that platform......

You are talking about Nested Filters. It is indeed very high on @Jason Carr to-do list and I hope he will working on it very soon. @shadowblind Unfortunately that’s not possible at the moment. Maybe worth a feature request ticket on BitBucket

Maybe worth a feature request ticket on BitBucket Done! Thanks for the quick replies, @CriticalCid, @SentaiBrad, @Rincewind. It's not a big priority thing but I would love to see it implemented someday as I'd like to sort my collection via genres without losing the flashiness
Jason Carr
Thanks guys. Yes, nested filters are indeed high up there on the priority list. It also makes sense to allow the same types of media for genres, though, too; which is a separate thing (nested filters will allow you to filter by genre when inside of a platform, but won't allow you to navigate primarily by platform with all the visual goodies).
