spidey
If I'm copying my roms to my launchbox folder.. can I simply move everything to a new computer once I have it all set up? The idea here is that I'm setting everything up on my pc, and then I'd like to simply just move my launchbox folder to my laptop in my game cabinet, to avoid having to set everything up again. Retro808
I just go into learning LaunchBox and realized my current pc really cannot handle the visuals from the BigBox theme I am using so I have a new upgraded spec pc coming in and will need to move my set-up. In researching how best to do this I found the following post.

If all your roms and emulators are in the launchbox folder, then yes you can just move the folder.

SentaiBrad
If your LaunchBox install, roms and emulators are all on the same hard drive, you can move everything to a new hard drive just fine. When they're on the same drive (or by extension in your LB folder), they use relative paths, meaning, it doesn't even know what drive letter it's on, but it knows where to look assuming you never mess with the path. If you have games on a different hard drive, and you need to more your games for example, you'd move them then need to edit the platform XML's with a program like Notepad++ to find and replace the old paths with the new ones.
