Morning Launchboxers!

Just imported by PSX games and they have come in like this.

Capture.thumb.JPG.78e8807f8e4491af63ed65e94f2faa5b.JPGIs there a way I can amend these to specify they are the same name with different discs, or do I need to re-import and remember to edit that info when the games are parsed?

Select both by holding the control key and clicking each, then right click and combine. This will combine them into a single entry and you can choose which disk image to load.

Your disk names were just in a format that Launchbox doesn't like. It should have been something like Chrono Cross (Disk 1) and Chrono Cross (Disk 2). Then it would have auto combined them on import.

Thanks (as always) @lordmonkus. I did try that but if you do that (or just rename them the same in the import dialogue it simply thinks they are different "versions" of the same game.

This is fine, I just seem to recall it used to identify they were different discs. It would seem sensible that you could edit the below dialog to specify discs but that's disabled.

It only identity's them when they're labeled properly. The roms should be labeled in any type of bracket, usually ( ) or [ ], with Disk 1, Disk 2, Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc(k) 1 of 2, Disc(k) 2 of 2, etc. Then when you import, make sure you have selected to merge games. This will also merge variations on the game. Essentially, the game name needs to stay the same, it's looking inside of brackets for identifying information. So when import, inside the brackets is ignored for figuring out a games name, but not ignored to figure out information. How it's displayed for you is how multi disc games will be displayed, but since it was never imported that way it wont say what disc is what in that last image you showed. However, even after doing it through the importer with the right verbiage, you'll right click a game to see anything attached under it.

I don't think so. Maybe I am wrong. For the disc information, it is kept in the "Version" field though. That's where anything in the brackets gets put, read, and utilized by LaunchBox. Including multiple disc information.

You can manually tweak them by modifying the Additional Applications on the game after the fact, but yes, agreed, it would be nice to be able to modify the disc numbers. We should add a ticket for that. :)
