radio5
Tonight, I decided to copy my LaunchBox folder (emulators and all) onto a 128gb flash drive. When I try to launch it from the flashdrive, it doesn't do anything. No error message, nothing. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Thanks
Lordmonkus
It should work just fine, I have an install on a USB flashdrive that works perfectly. Check out this video on setting it up and see if there is something you might have missed when setting it up.
radio5
Yeah, that's the video that made me decide to try it, but besides rebuilding, I'm not sure what I can do.
DOS76
do you have LB not on the flash drive open at the same time your trying to open LB from the flashdrive?
radio5
No, everything is closed. It launches fine from my hard drive, but not from the flash. I'm kind of new to this, but is there a file I can upload that might shed some light on the problem?
DOS76
yeah if its running an instance of LB your PC won't start another one that is why I asked. I guess you should try installing over top of your current install it shouldn't at all effect your data folder or any of your media that you already setup. radio5
Thanks, but what do you mean by installing over top of my current install?
DOS76
If you go into the update folder in LB and sort it by date it will show you multiple copies of old installers of the program just run the newest one and it should reinstall the .exe files but not change anything in your data or media folders to be safe you can make backups if you want though before running anything.
radio5
Thanks, DOS76, I'll give it a try. If that doesn't work, I'll try simply deleting it off my flash drive and re-copying.
radio5
I solved my problem. It was a bad copy. When I originally copied everything (~40gb), I left for about 10 minutes and it said it was complete. When I deleted everything and started over, it took closer to an hour, but when I clicked the .exe file, it just worked. This program is amazing! I would also like the thank DOS76 for helping me troubleshoot. If he/she is any indication of this forum community, it seems like this is a pretty helpful, friendly place.
