DOS76
having 16GB will improve your system overall and may help with LB/BB how it effects the actual retrogaming eh I don't know seems like NES games play just as well with 4GB or RAM as they do 8 or
mothergoose729
Probably not, but it might make windows and launchbox more responsive. There are emulators that use a lot of memory for shader caching, and you can see marginal improvements in performance when you are able to fully cache all your shaders. 8gb is a lot of memory though, and these memory leaks have largely been fixed by driver updates. So no, not likely, but it can't hurt.
Retro808
I have 3 machines set up. 8GB test machine and my two arcades have 16GB and 32GB. In retro gaming I see no real performance change in emulation especially with older consoles. The CPU is where the benefit is. What I do see is better performance out of LB/BB. Especially on the heavier use themes.
