ByPass MAME 177 OK Nag

Hello,

Is there anyway for me to bypass MAME 177 NAG about press "ok" or left right to launch game.  I have a very old version of mame and dont think a NO NAG versionis available.  Most of my rom set will not work with other newer versions of MAME.

Get a new ROM set. Its available on Pleasuredome.org updated every last Wednesday of the month your like 15 versions behind (16 next Wednesday) now would be a good time to update (or just wait until next Wednesday and get 0.193).

Been messing around with the latest MAME and romset, but have not really noticed why I would update it?  My old romset has more games, allows me to use a version of MAMEUI that works and besides the nag of "OK" is really a better version.  I am new and naive to this stuff so please forgive me.
 

What is the reason people update the romsets?  It looks like the new version of romsets have less games, am I missing something?

New versions don't have less games at all.

People will update for a couple of main reasons, new games being supported (ex: Akai Katana in 192) or a new version of Mame brings significant upgrades such as improved shaders or sound.

Thanks, I have been playing around with the 1.92 version and it seems clunky to me and after getting a romset, lots of games were missing like Punchout and others to name a few.  But thanks for explaining it to me.

Games shouldn't be missing at all unless the Mame devs decided for a good reason to remove them.

I haven't updated my rom set in a while though, I am using 182 or 184, I can't remember exactly which.
