2 Players version on MAME

Hi!!

Installed MAME today and see some roms are not listed.

My romset is 7zipped and have some game versions on every zip.

For Sunset Riders I have the 4 player version and 2 player version in same zip, but Launchbox only show the 4 player version.

How can I show all versions of my games? Same thing on Simpsons game rom.

LB currently can not read MAME merge ROM sets.   the work around  You need to create a Dummy set of Split ROMS and imported them into the LB.   this way when you click on pacman it will look inside the pucman ROM file in your MAME ROMS folder.

Split and non merged are the recommended rom sets to use.

OK, but I don't want to re-download all my set only for 4 games that have this 2 players version...

Yeah, perfectly understandable but in the future if you ever update your rom set just keep in mind that split or non merged is the preferred way to go for Launchbox.

as a test create a fake zip file with the name of the 2 and 4 player rom and import this into LB.    See if that works.

There was MAME utility that would take the Merge sets and spilt them.   Not sure if that is still out there

I was using GameEx with no problems during years and this same set.... Thats the reason to have it merged.

Is not a completed set, only 400 roms that I want.

I've tryied to import only a 2 player rom of the Simpsons game but it do nothing (I think because I have the other merged rom imported).

Only want to show 4 games that have 2 players version.

That or copy the ROMs and name them the clone name but the fake zip should definitely work. I also believe that you maybe able to make an additonal app named after the clone ROM minus the .zip and check the use without file extension checkbox under manage emulators

Problem solved!!!

As you said, only need to import all separated roms (2 players and 4 players version), but need first to delete the merged rom from my list.

Now I have 2 games version.
