Star Wars : Rogue Squadron (N64) - no load

Anyone get Star Wars : Rogue Squadron (N64) working on Retroarch? - tried with mupen and parellel, and different ROMs, no dice.

That is a known problematic game along with Indiana Jones. I think the Parralel core with the Angrylion plugin enabled will play it and I also think that the Mupen core will as well with a certain core setting enabled but I cannot remember which setting it is if it does.

The stand alone Mupen64plus https://m64p.github.io/claims to load and play it fine out of the box with no tinkering.

How to activate angry lion plugin without game loaded?

Load up a different game first, change the setting and then close it out, the setting should save. Then you can load up Star Wars and see if that worked.

Can probably edit the retroarch core options file in notepad++ too. See line 108

Uh oh - After i edited retroarch core options in notepad (and reverted back), Retroarch is no longer booting up at all with any N64 game in Launchbox, and wont boot when right clicking to load it without game. Strangely, NES and SNES games run fine and Retroarch runs when booted from its orginal folder. Any idea what i've broken?

1st I would try editing it back and see if it fixes it

I mean if that was all you changed I don't know why it would break it.

You can reset it by opening the retroarch-core-options.cfg file in notepad and delete the block of text for parallel.

yep tried that - even tried a PC reboot, not working, then switching to Mupen64 but still not working

Check in your \Retroarch\config\ParaLLEl N64 folder for a config file, delete that or move it somewhere else and see if that fixes it.

Also, is not loading any N64 games at all or is it loading to a black screen ?

N64 games (and retroarch loaded in LB) doesnt run at all.

I see that SNES and NES run because they have their own config set up in 'Extra Command-Line Parameters' -- N64 does not

Can you show a screenshot of your Associated Platforms window for Retroarch and your Nintendo 64 platform ?

Just added a -c config\parallel... and it now works in N64 -- but retroarch still wont load via right click game -> retroarch

Same as any other emulator. 

At this point I have no idea what you have changed and done so I don't know what to tell you other than recheck everything and take a look at the tutorials.

If you want to play the game and don't care about emulating it I think it's on gog. I think.
