Fablog
Hi guys, I have a Mame rom fullset and I'm wondering if I can play them in AES mode (console) thanks to Unibios? Thanks!

Fablog
Thanks Lordmonkus. Can I play in AES mode with Mame or do I need to use Retroarch with the final burn core?
Lordmonkus
You can use either. If you want to use Mame look in your mame.ini file for the line bios change it so it says: bios unibios33 If you don't have unibios33 change it to unibios32
Fablog
Very good information, thanks! Should I make a clone of my Mame to be able to play in AES or MVS mode?
Lordmonkus
not at all
DOS76
interesting so if you had the .ini for either the game or the system driver you could just specify it there and not in your top level MAME.ini
Lordmonkus
As far as I know of that bios line only affects the NeoGeo games. It normally is blank and that is the only use I have ever found for it, though of course there probably is some other use for it but I have never run into it. I'm not sure where Mame saves the per game bios settings (region and MVS/AVS) but I do know you can (and possibly have to) set it up per game. DOS76
I imagine it would work for a lot of different stuff and any system that prompts you for a bios when you launch it but that is just a theory of course but I could see it working for software list stuff if you had individual .ini files for them. I can't figure how-to use only 1 Mame to do that.
Fablog
I found the solution to use only one Mame for the AES and MVS mode if you have organized them in LB in 2 different systems. Add a line for your AES system in the emulator config window and pass additional parameters (see the uploaded image). The Unibios settings are keep in the Mame nvram directory. Create another nvram directory in Mame for the AES system only and open each game. It will create a new nvram for each game. It's possible to copy a nvram from a game and replace the nvram of the other games.
Lordmonkus
Glad you got it setup the way in a way that works for you.
housello
You can launch them with aes %romname% parameter
