When I launched through LB, a black screen window shows for a tenth of a sec "neocd.bin NOT FOUND (tried in neocdz neocdz)

Does it come from the Bios? I explain. I think I got the bios through google in a list for mess ( MESS-0.151.BIOS ). But the actual mess is I believe 0.204. And I cannot find the bios for this version. What do you think?

Your rom path looks completely messed, there are a few mistakes.

First off where you have your bios all you need in your rompath is roms

Second, you're missing the other bios file; neocdz.zip

Third, if your rom path has a space in it it needs to be wrapped in quotes.

hmm I thought I needed to write the path to the roms, which are at the root of the hdd. so I changed back to roms, downloaded and put the 2 zip files in the folder and yet it doesn't work...Did i forget anything else?

They just have to be the right bios and good disk images, cue + bin and you load the cue.

How do I know these are good bios? Is there a way to check them individually so It cannot be something else?

I tried to launch directly from mess but the inyerface isn t clear, I got this:

It means it cannot find those files in the bios files that you have.

the thing I don't get is where should these files be. because the 000.lo.lo file is in the folder with the neocd bios (picture above)

The bios files shouldn't really be unzipped for a start. You'll need the correct neogeo.zip and neocdz.zip in your roms folder.

We can't tell you where to get them but they are easy enough to google.

I just tried again without anything else than the 2 zip files, and again tried to launch mess through launchbox.

result is that 000-lo.lo NOT FOUND

fatal error....

I'm wondering where Mess is looking for this file

Is 000-lo.lo definitely in your neogeo.zip ?

Is your neogeo.zip and neocdz.zip in the roms folder?

And lastly as lordmonkus said make sure your rompath in your ini file says roms

nothing else after rompath apart from the word roms

I don'thave a neogeo.zip, but a neocd.zip and a neocdz.zip

You should be fine with the version of mess you are using but as I said you need neogeo.zip

I got both neogeo.zip and neocdz.zip (both include 000-lo.lo file) and yet the black screen keeps on telling me 000-lo.lo NOT FOUND (tried ni neocdz neocdz). What else can I try? I'm running the 0.204version of mess

here you are. My roms are in a different folder than the roms folder of mess which only contains the 2 zip files we talked about earlier.

The games were isos and mp3s that I mounted (deamon tools lite ) and turned into bin and cue files (image burner)
