I get confused I see this released for Atari 8 bit computers but which model?

weird when i look at the mame hash folder cant see it in the software list so i dont know what name to load it under

Yeah it could be a cart or could be that your file is not supported by Mames Atari 8-bit emulation or the emulation isn't very good. I would suggest trying a different emulator like Altirra or Kat5200, those are near perfect Atari 8-bit emulators.
