Arcade controls with ipac ultimate not responding in bigbox

I am redoing my bar top and got a new ipac ultimate. It’s set up fine in winipac2, but when I got to bigbox to configure the mappings, no button presses are acknowledged. 
anyone have any insight ?

Is your iPac set up in keyboard more or controller mode?

Are you in the right section in BigBox, there's a keyboard settings and controller settings?

crap, don’t recall now.  Didn’t even think of that. I guess I should be doing keyboard mappings in this case?
