SiriusVI
Hey everyone, in Retroarch 1.8.4, retro achievements don't work with the mupenPlus Next core anymore. It works fine on 1.8.1, but on newer versions I get this error message: "cannot activate achievements using this core." I've found threads online which describe the same problem, however, there does not seem to be a solution. I've tried several different Retroarch versions: 1.8.1: works 1.8.4 doesn't work 1.8.3: doesn't work Latest Nightly: doesn't work The mupen core is alwasy the same, so it seems to be a problem within Retroarch. Does anyone have the same issues? Edited February 7, 2020 by SiriusVI

Yeah, probably, but I'm not registered there and plenty of people here use retroarch as well, so I wanted to try to aks around here. But you're right of course. Maybe I'll just make an account over at Libretro as well.
SiriusVI
I've just registered an account ove rthere, but I can't seem to be able to create a new thread. Apparently you have to have a certain number of posts before you can create your own topic over there. Well, I will continue to hope that somebody here can help ? DOS76
do you search over there to see if anyone else with the issue made a post that you could then post in. If you are in Discord they also have a Discord channel

SiriusVI
Still no news. Besides these forums above, I cannot seem to find any info on this issue. There is nothing on the libretro forums, and I am not allowed to post there. I've tried the newest retroarch nightly today with no success. Again: - Mupen works finr with Retroarch version 1.8.1. - All other cores which use retro achievements work fine with the newest retroarch version. I know this isn't the retroarch forums, but maybe someone can give me some advice on how I can toubleshoot this issue myself, since there is basically no info on this issue anywhere, except the few people I found who have the same issue. EDIT: I've just found someone on the retro achievements chats who has the same issue: http://retroachievements.org/viewtopic.php?t=10074&c=57386 Edited February 10, 2020 by SiriusVI

You will just need to wait for it to be fixed or use a different core/emulator.

I just find it hard to believe that there are this few people who have encountered this problem and posted the issue somewhere. It's weird that there are no threads on libretro forums talking about it. I'll keep an eye open.
