Why do I have a crazy High Score in Galaga??

I actually haven’t played this game since I added it to MAME - but I’m showing a score of over 5,000,000,000 in the weekly leaderboard 

 

I really wish I was this good - but I’m not lol

There are some random issues. We have a troubleshooting thread.

Thanks @Rags2Rickius. I've removed that score. Unfortunately every once in a blue moon, the MAME high scores system seems to get corrupted, and this happens. We will be reaching out to see if there's anything we can do about that.

@Rags2Rickius Have you played Galaga since that invalid score happened? If not, are you able to zip up and send me your MAME\hi\galaga.hi file (if it exists) and the MAME\nvram\galaga folder? That way we can troubleshoot what might be going on.

I guess when you saw the score that would’ve instantly told you that was incorrect lol

I don’t think anyone at all could get a score like that without getting to some kind of kill screen
