move media to another disk

Hello everyone.

Right now, i have all my launchbox set up in my launchbox directory on a 8TB hard drive.

I was thinking about moving all the gamesand plateform  media  (Pictures, logo, video, etc....) on a separate SSD to gain some speed when i navigate through game and platform in BigBox.

Is it something relevant ?  If yes, how could i easily move all the media to another disk (like batch edit for all games)  without having to rescrap everything or reconfigure every games one by one ?

Thanks :)

Try this tutorial, it was made specifically for moving the image cache, but would work for other folders. Essentially you would move the image and video folders and use the program in the post to create a junction, so Launchboix still thinks the folders are in the normal location, but they are actually elsewhere.

The only other way in the UI is to change each image type for each platform one by one, which is obviously tedious. You could probably edit the files directly somewhere, but im not going to recommend you mess with important files.

Edit: forgot to actually link the tutorial. :)

@Elhora Your best bet is to keep everything together all on one drive, sans for the game/ROM files. Generally, the media and LaunchBox installation can be easily kept under the size of relatively inexpensive SSDs. Then you can place your game/ROM files on a different, slower drive (or even over the network), and there won't be much of a performance difference that way. So it sounds like you just need to move your LaunchBox installation to an SSD, sans for the games, and then change the game folder paths in LaunchBox separately for each platform under Tools > Change ROMs for Path for Selected Games.
