Lost with Big Box

Im totally lost trying with Big Box

I figured out how to install themes, the one when you are choosing a system to play

But when you are entering the game wheel i don't get it how it is suppose to look

Seen some turtorials but looks like there's something missing, i don't find what i can't

If i want to setup NES and have picked a theme, how do i go from there?

I've seen a couple of turtorials, which one is up to date covering it up?

What theme is it? The theme is supposed to look like the pics you saw look like. So not sure what you mean by this.

Have you set up for NES emulator in LaunchBox, added your games, and downloaded your media? Once you do all that BigBox is pretty much good to go. Just select a theme if you do not want to use the default one. You have to set-up all your emulation things in LaunchBox first for BigBox to be able to launch any games.

Not sure which tutorials you watched as there are many. Usually the ones from LaunchBox (Unbroken Software Youtube) are best to use. Although I do not think there has been a recent one for setting up NES, but the process how not changed much.

Im trying with the coin ops theme

Everything is working with settings emulators in Launchbox

Obviosly it's something in the "views" settings im messing up with in BIG BOX

If i try setup NES, i guess i have to download set of videos from EMU Movies?

Is there anything else needed to complete NES set besides the videos and the theme?

BigBox themes rarely come with game play or platform videos. User needs to download those.

Looking at the theme most of the custom platform views are when using Wheel Games View 3. So in BigBox go to either keyboard mapping or controller mapping setting and map either a key or a button to the option for "Change View" in BigBox keyboard or controller mapping settings then when in the theme you can hit that button/key and change view on the fly to the one you want.

Haven't seen any videos of Big Box when they go from black to logos actually

Every single theme has a view like the one in your image. Also you are viewing playlists there, i dont use those so not sure how different they are to platforms, they may be list only, i dont know.

You have to change the view. In your pic with the text and black background that is the TextListView. Coinops does not have a dedicated TextListView so it defaults to the BigBox Default theme for that view. In order to get to the view that has clear logos on the wheel  you need to change the view. In an earlier post I told you how to do that. Here it is below again in case you missed it. I get that you say your lost, but you have to at least do what you are being advised.

Here is Coinops Redux in TextListView. You background is black as you likely do not have a background image for the Playlist category you have highlighted.Screen Shot 2020-11-25 at 6.57.51 AM.pngand then using my mapped button to change the view to the wheel specific view.

Thanks for tip

Well, most videos i've seen with big box

There you see how you go into manage theme > pick theme > install theme

When that is done everything is done in gamewheel

Seems like im missing a couple of steps there

Yes, but like everything else with software you have to change settings to your liking. Its never just one an done. I recommend you spend time looking at all the settings in BigBox.

Take this turtorial

Then everything is set in game wheel

So not wonder im kinda lost

Yeah, I honestly doubt you will find any tutorials on LB, BB, or truthfully any other software that is going to tell you everything you need to know. That is why a forum is helpful. So I would not dwell any more on being lost and just ask the questions on things you want to know or cannot figure out.

When you add a theme if the look is not what you see in the video or the download thread change the view and see if that helps.
