Can you provide more details about what 'doesn't seem to work'? But yes, this beta-plugin is broken in v13.19. After 5 years and as many comments from different Forum Members (one of the [only] 5 being you), I'm doubt it's going to get much attention. Not by me, that is. A quick once-over of the code indicates it will need to be re-written to work in 13.19. I may return to this sometime in the future if I bet bored, have time and feel like working on it. Quote
dukdukgoos Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) What I'm seeing is 13.18 loads, but the interface is broken (no buttons, text missing, etc.). 13.19 doesn't even show up in the menu. I'm surprised this isn't a more popular plugin. The default MAME full set importer never seems to work cleanly for me. I always have to clean up a bunch of extra stuff that doesn't get filtered properly. Edited February 16 by dukdukgoos clarification Quote

The only issue I've seen with the MAME Full Set Import Wizard is if you run it shortly after a new MAME update and there were new games added, the new games sometimes don't get filtered properly (or at all, actually) because LaunchBox hasn't updated their internal MAME metadata to include those. I don't know what their update policy/frequency is. If you're finding older entries (games) aren't being filtered properly, I'd suggest filing bug report to let the team know. Quote
dukdukgoos Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Here's an example: after doing a full set import on .274 with all the default filtering options I get 3490 games imported (much higher than previous sets that were 2800 or so). If I then use filters to select all "gambling" games (which should have all been removed by the import filters) I get 522 games. Quote

But this is all outside the scope of this subject thread. Somethings you can do: Start a new thread and/or file a bug report When in your Arcade platform select the Filter for Gambling Press Ctrl+A Press Delete on your keyboard Install and use the Filter Arcade Platform plugin Caveat: it generally uses what LaunchBox uses to filter them But when LB updates their MAME metadata files, it uses those updated files Quote
dukdukgoos Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Yes, sorry for cluttering your plugin thread. I'll file a bug report. 1 Quote
mamizoune Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I've been a long-time user of this add-on but for some reason the menu option to use it disappeared suddenly? I'm not sure if it's something conflicting with the new version of Launchbox or what, but Launchbox almost acts as if the plugin doesn't exist, it doesn't give me the option anymore. Quote

paQ Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Hello, After installing an older version of Launchbox, I have managed to get this wonderful plugin working. I thank the author for his work, because with this utility we can filter the huge content that MAME has, at our convenience. I personally have used clearmame pro to clean the set, leave only the arcade games (no mechanical games, gambling, quiz, etc) and added some roms that are not supported by the official release of MAME ;D. Finally I have used the plugin to make Launchbox show the extended names of the roms, so LB can identify them properly. It would be great if JoeViking could update the plugin to work on current versions of Launchbox. Thanks again for the great work! Edited May 8 by paQ 1 1 Quote
