Using project bezels issue

Ok if I posted in wrong place sorry and move to other forum.

OK so I'm having an issue with project bezel and just don't know what's wrong. For example. When I launch a game outside launchbox using RocketLauncher the bezel shows up fine and the correct bezel for the game. When I try to launch it through launchbox using RocketLauncher the bezel shows up but the game is behind the bezel. I can hear it but not see it. I tried everything I could think of. Any help would be great.

You might get better advice about that on the RocketLauncher forum, but it sounds like you have some conflicts with your RocketLauncher configuration and LaunchBox's configuration, which is causing an overlapping bezel. I haven't used RocketLauncher in quite a while, but I still have it configured like this with LaunchBox's default command line: -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" -p "LaunchBox" -s "%platform%" -r

So, I'd check that first to make sure that you have the right configuration. And if you're using RocketLauncher along with Project Bezel and Retroarch's built in bezel system, that might cause some overlapping as well. But again, I'm not an expert on RocketLauncher and haven't used it in quite a while.

Only reason I asked here is because it works with RocketLauncher outside of Launchbox. So I figured it had to be some configuration in LB.

Thanks

I'd try that configuration I mentioned (above) and see what happens. Also, there's a few youtube tutorials out there that explain how to use RocketLauncher properly along with LaunchBox. Unfortunately, you probably won't get too many answers here as a lot of people have stopped using RocketLauncher over the years as new features such as fades and pause screens have been added within LaunchBox, along with the fact that bezels can be handled within MAME or Retroarch. There's also a good program/plugin called Reshade that can make bezels for other emulators like PCSX2, Dolphin, and several others.

Thanks. I have that command line already. I'm weening off RocketLauncher and only use it where I can't get the bezels to work in LB or MAME. MAME bezels work fine but when I use MAME as the emulator for systems like odyssey2 (software list) it doesn't switch automatically to the correct game bezel.

Are you referencing odyssey2 bezels under MAME from The Bezel Project? If so, Videopac is the system name configured for our MAME export, not odyssey2.

Can I edit the naming in bezel project to odyssey2? Also can you edit cores that  bezel project doesn't support like duckstation?

Yes, sub-directories can be renamed to whatever you want, but be aware the names of the underlying cfg files MUST match the rom names being called, whether in MAME or Retroarch and the sub-directory names themselves must match whatever calling app expects.
