Retrofrogg
When looking at the "3D Model Settings" in the Edit Platform window, there are only 2 model types - Box and DVD case. Could we have CD case and cassette case too please? And ideally Megadrive cases? Or, best of all, allow us to make our own 3D models to import? There are a lot of different shapes and formats of media boxes/cases out there. Please vote for the feature here: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/7372/3d-model-box-types-more-please Edited November 13, 2022 by Retrofrogg
Mr. Shiver
I'm hoping that when they do, ad a CD 3d model, that they have 2 options. Once of Wich being without the spine being embedded sort of how it's working out now so I we can still use abeezy's front 2.5d covers. Because even without a proper 3d model, the 2.5d covers look great. Apply one of his PS1 covers and see. It would suck if I had to find another set of front images so I don't get 2 spines on the front lol. It's a similar problem I have right now with his PS2 covers. I have a frame within a frame issue lol. On a side note. If anyone can point me to a uniform flat 2d front cover set for the PS2 thatd be great. I found one before but can't find it now
kurzih
Sounds nice! More options would be always welcomed - especially for cassette tapes (C64 etc.!) - someone had made a really nice template on the database . Perhaps a transparent options for the DVD cases as well (Nintendo Switch etc.)? But I have to say that this latest update is fantastic! I had high expectations, and the devs delivered! (I actually downgraded from the previous version before this release, I wasn't too happy with the lack of 3D options and the quality in game view). Now we have the option to turn on/off 3D models (I like them off in game view) and to be able to click the 3D model open with the controller in fullscreen for best quality. I love it! I'm glad I uploaded hundreds of missing spines 😎 I hope many will follow and also hopefully upload them as untouched as possible, because the effect of "slightly used" boxes with at least 8-bit - 32-bit computer games look really realistic and genuine when you rotate them in 3D. Thank you guys for your efforts, I'm sticking with auto-update now Edited January 18, 2023 by kurzih
spycat
I'm currently working on box fronts, backs and spines for the BBC Micro which when done will be uploaded as a pack to the Downloads. I'm also submitting some spines to the LaunchBox Games Database but I've noticed that some existing games (where the box back was a flap) use the front inside inlay artwork as the box back which is incorrect. Just wondering what the database preference would be for cases that used a back flap. Just the flap itself looks very stretched in the 3D Modeller. I'm doing them as a full width box back in png format with the area outside of the flap set as transparent and let the 3D Modeller set a colour. @Mr. Shiver The forum Downloads has two sets (US and EU) of PS2 front, back and spine artwork - see Sony Playstation 2 under the Game Media section.
