KingCronecker Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Under image group I have boxes chosen. I would like to be able to remove the rounded corners from the box art. I have found a tutorial on how to do this by going into the files of Lauchbox and reducing the corner radius number from 10 to 0 but it did nothing. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Retro808 Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 If you follow my steps in this post exactly it works. The user there also confirms he was able to remove the rounded corners. Quote

I am using just the free version of LaunchBox so I don't know if that affects this. The names and details of the files and folders in the instructions are slightly different now so I'm not confident I'm doing the right thing. For example, it's called "boxesgameview" and the corner value is 10 not 1. Do I have to apply this new folder or anything else once I have made the changes? Quote

Editing the default theme requires you to make a copy of it first and rename it (as to not leave Launchbox with only a broken theme) but in order to then use that edited theme with a different name you would need premium, as themes are part of the paid product I'm afraid. So it should be "10" not "1". Also, the "boxesgamesview" I am not sure what you are seeing. The file is called BaxesContentView.xaml (Its the first file in the image attached). Either way though it does not matter since you are using a free version and you cannot do this process because Free version cannot apply custom LB themes. 1 Quote

You can practice it in theory by following along in the above posts. Main key point is, if using the Default theme, you need to make a copy of its folder and then edit the copy. That said, the free version of LaunchBox does not support custom themes. So to make the above 'practice' a reality, you would need to purchase a license. Quote
Siggy12 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Really!! I need to purchase a license for have the OLD square corner ? Quote

You just won't be able to use that [customized] theme. Again, you need to purchase a license to be able to use a custom theme. You can't modify the Default Theme because it will "fix" itself if changed. (hence needing to make a copy). As all was stated previously by Neil. You could try the Old Default theme (which I believe still comes with the free version) and see if that's better suited to your liking. Quote
Siggy12 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I checked the "Old Default" theme and unfortunately it has also the ROUNDED corners! Please at least allow us to select ROUNDED or SQUARE corners via options in a near future update since free users can't do it by editing directly from the xml, those rounded corners don't give the exact look and feel of the real cover like the square one.
