Platform Nested Name

How are the Platform name and the Platform Nested name different, mainly concerning theming?

I am not 100% sure, I believe it pertains to the playlist nested name. When making playlists I noticed it allowed that in the details. I assume it's for times when you want to use the nested name instead of the actual playlist/platform name.

If I remember correctly, then the difference is mostly seen in the Platform Categories section. Imagine you have the following tree:

• Sega Genesis
  • Action

 

Platform Name would read: Sega Genesis Action

Nested Name would show: Action

it seems that the nested name field is only available for categories or playlists. with that said, it could not be applied to a platform. so if you wanted to use a nested name on a platform you could instead create a playlist and give it the nested name you want, and then add that playlist to the appropriate spot in your tree.

True, but then you’d have duplication of “platforms”. I’ve added it as a feature request.
