Images folder creating folder

Recommended Posts

Hey guys has anyone seen this. Where launchbox or big box is making a folder called ( None ) inside the images folder in Launchbox? I went through all folders to see if there's a playlist or platform that's creating this but can't seem to find anything. Big box is starting to run sluggish after like 5 minutes of use. To where I have to restart bigbox.i tryed deleting it and it comes right back. Inside the None folder. There's just the regular folders Launchbox creates for example front box 3s box ext...  No files at all besides those folders.PXL_20240408_131628554_MP.thumb.jpg.dbc5ac1d8db05cc274707e05dab513ad.jpg Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks you in advance.

Not seen this or anyone on the forums/discord/otherwise report a similar issue. You have any rogue platform xaml files in your \Data folders? The only thing in those folders should be files LB creates. Any manually created, backed up, or altered xaml files need to be stored elsewhere. That one thing known to cause random issue similar to this.

I checked all my XML files in the Launchbox, data folder and all seems well in there nothing extra but the platforms and playlists I have.

This happened to me when i was adding magazines, you'll have something that doesnt have a platform assigned to it so it generates a none folder.

This is most likely the case but how do I find the file causing this issue?

Not sure about that as i already knew what the file was, mine was a weird one that existed in a playlist (unable to delete) but wasnt showing anywhere else. It later decided to show up in search which allowed me to delete it and the folder.

You could go into Options, under Visuals > Filters Side Bar, and turn on the Show "(None)" item

That will make the (None) item appear on your side bar, allowing you to see if you have any games in this state that could be causing what you are seeing.
