Hello all - searched the forum and found a few topics on this but none have produced the fix that I'm looking for.  One system (3DO) in my BigBox does not have the nifty platform logo that all other systems have.  See attached image - to the left of the Arcade logo is the 3DO.  Its doing standard text for just that particular system.  I have tried:

  • Refreshing all images
  • Assigning it a platform logo to use (although I'm not 100% sure I'm doing that right)
  • Deleting the entire system from my library along with all media, and reloading it from scratch

None of these have worked - any insight as to why?  Appreciate your time and help!

With your LaunchBox/BigBox apps closed, navigate to your LaunchBox/Images/Platforms/3DO (or whatever you have named it)/Clear Logo folder and check that the png logo image is present in the Clear Logo folder.
If it's there then make sure it's named to match the 3DO (or whatever you have named it) platform's folder name.
Once all this is in place, then running BigBox and refreshing the images should clear things up.

You could be running into the issue simply because the order you tried things. To get the image to display you should do the following (in order):

1) Open LaunchBox, go to Tools > Manage > Platforms.
2) Select the platform in question and press edit
3) In the form that appears the right hand side shows images assigned to the platform. Verify that a logo is present, if there isn't one add it by using the Add Image button or dragging the image to the window. When adding an image using either method make sure to assign the image type to clear logo by selecting the text in that control and then selected the Clear Logo image type from the menu that appears
4) Press OK to save changes, then close LaunchBox
5) Open Big Box, then go to the system menu (press back) and then to Options
6) Go to the Image cache section and clear your platform image cache
7) Return to your wheel and you should see the image as desired

This resolved it - no image was in that folder.  As soon as I provided one and refreshed, it showed up.  Thank you very much!

For anyone reading this thread in the future, as C-Beats eluded to, if you want a surefire way of checking if a platform image exists, go into LaunchBox, right click one of your platforms and edit the platform (or go to Tools > Manage > Platforms and enter into one of the platforms from there). On the right side of that window lists all available images that LaunchBox can read for that platform, and you have full control to add, edit, or delete platform images from there. No need to dive into any folders or memorize any platform names :)

I have been banging my head against a wall trying to figure out why this was not working. I was able to fix it thanks to you! Thank you! In my case clearing the image cache fixed it. Thanks again!
