Another persons aid turning debug off and on resolved their issue, and it has for me as well. I also resolved this issue the same way a few days ago.

When the problem first started I turned on debug and the error stopped occurring. This time debug was already one, so I turned it off, restart launchbox, still getting the error. Turned debug on restart launchbox and the error stops.

turning debug on didn't resolved the error, BUT when I try to get it off, I've got that strange error:

I have been having no issues importing roms since I took standalone Retroarch out of LB, I tried adding Retroarch again and I immediately got the import error. Removed it and the roms imported with no issues. This is all with debugging off.

Just tried installing the stable version of Retroarch right in LB emulator folder and I'm trying this both with and without cores and items in system folder. In the rom import wizard, if I hit next and don't select an emulator, the rom will import no problem. Soon as I select Retroarch as the emulator in the wizard, throws the import error. I thought it might have been something with the nightly standalone version but still throws error with the the stable version.

I am also experiencing this issue "An error occurred while trying to import games: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

It is incredible that after so many years such an big error has appeared in 13.16

Do you have symbolic links inside your RetroArch folder? My test suggests that symlinks might be an issue. But then again, it might just be something else.

I reloaded LB (latest version), and started loading Roms.  I did not use the retro arch plug in, I download retro arch and installed it myself.  Thought everything was great. Started loading Roms 16 categories over 32K games, and then this morning bang the error popped up again.

Cool so after you push OK? Do you see the progress bar at the top starting the import process at all or no?

For me the issue is with importing games. Games launch just fine, I don't use symbolic links in Retroarch. Retroarch seems to be the issue here, I'm assuming something either on Launchbox's end or Retroarch's end broke

We've uncovered one cause for the issue internally and are running tests on the changes. Hopefully we can get another beta pushed out with it soon so you all can verify whether the change corrects the issue for you or not.

You're the best, Launchbox!

I was thinking that there was something wrong with my installation, but I see that many are having the same issue. What I noticed is a continuous CPU usage after LaunchBox is opened and while the CPU does not go to zero these errors occur both when importing or making any changes to Launchbox.

I have been loading my roms into 13.16.  When the error pops up, each time I have gone into manage emulator and under retroarch turned off the default emulator for the platform Im importing.  I then inport the roms again with no error.
